CHAPTER 23- MISUNDERSTOOD!

I just wanna say that I am so sorry!  I completely forgot about the last two updates because of all the crazy stuff that's been going on.  But, I will make it up to you with the next update after this!  It will be talking about and explaining about a bunch of really cool future stuff, so please be sure to read it if you want a few hints and other things on what's going on.

(WHISPER'S POV)

     The night after I had spoken to the leaders they called an important meeting.  Every Night Fury, both young and old, attended the meeting.  

     "Whisper has given us information on the vikings."  Announced Layal on top of a large rock, above all the other Night Furies. 

     A loud murmur rose from the vast crowd around the rock.  And many looked at me, wondering what I had said.

     "She spoke of how the vikings had helped her and how they are not as bad as we all think."  Said Eirian.  

     "And after much thought and consideration, we have decided to give the vikings a chance."  Said Aouli.

     the crowd erupted with roars and gasps.

     "Settle!"  Growled Aouli.  "It is a risk. But one we must take, for both species.  And if Whisper is right, if these vikings don't attack us, then there will finally be peace between us.  And we could leave this island.  Explore, challenge, be truly free again."  

     Many of the Night Furies were comforted by his words.  Yet still, a few objected.

     "If?  If!?"  Yelled Esmeraldo.

     "Yes, we said it was a risk!  But, come on!  We are Night Furies!  If they try to attack us we will easily kill them on the spot, no hesitation."  Growled Layal.

     Even Esmer could not argue with the strength of his brothers and sisters, nor could the other Night Furies.

     "We do not know exactly when, but, they should arrive in about one moon cycle."  Said Eirian, soft yet strong.

     "And no one is allowed to shoot of threaten the vikings unless they act dangerously first."  Said Aouli.

     "That is all for today.  but if you do have any questions of the vikings, Whisper will gladly answer them all."  Layal turned to me with a fake smile.

     At that the three night Furies a top the rock had left and the crowd started to disband into little groups of friends or families and discuss what had just happened.

     Many crowded towards me, overwhelming me with questions.

     "Will my children be safe?"  Panicked one female. 

     "I'm due soon!  You won't let them in the nursery, will you?!"  Asked another.

     "How can we be sure you won't betray us along with the vikings?"  Growled one, very familiar, very annoying voice- Esmeraldo.

     "They may have saved me, but I would always be loyal to the Night Furies!"  I growled back.  "And yes, your children will be perfectly fine.  And, if you would feel safer, no, I won't let them in the nursery."  I said in a  more gentle tone.  

     I kept answering question after question the whole night.  

(ELANOR'S POV)

     "Here."  I offered Aslaug a hand.

     "Don't touch me!"  He yelled!

     "Listen Ass-laug, I-"  I cupped my hand over my mouth.

     I didn't mean to let the name slip.  For such a tough kid, he seemed genuinely put down.

     "Tch!  Whatever, just... leave me alone!"  He yelled before standing up.

     "But you can't-"  I started.

     "I'll manage just fine on my own!"  He growled.

     "Fine!"  I growled back and walked away from him.

     Ugh!  I can't believe I had thought for a moment that his accident had changed him!  He is still an annoying little piece of-   Astrid!

     Astrid walked up to me and smiled a little.  "Where have you been?"

     "I saw Aslaug get thrown out by his 'father' just now."  I said.

     "What?!  We should go help him!"  She said, taking a step towards where I had come from.

     "Forget it!  He will just get mad and tell you to leave him alone!"  I said.

     She sighed before continuing to walk forward.  "I should at least try, I owe him that much."

     She said and I was soon left alone in the cold breeze that hinted of the approaching winter.

(TOOTHLESS'S POV)

     I was laying my head on Hiccup's lap, purring.  Everything was perfect.  I was back with Hiccup and everyone else.  I could stay here forever...   Wait... No I can't.  Whisper is still out there.  And I have to get hiccup and the rest to her and the other Night Furies.

     I lifted my head and grunted then looked to the sky.

     "What is it, Bud?"  He said, looking at me.

     "Whisper..."  I cooed.

     He gave  my head a quick pat.

     "Alright, Alright!  We can take our sunset flight now."  He chuckled.

     I sighed.  Sometimes I really wish you could understand me.

     He hopped on my back and we took off.

     "Just one lap around the island."  He said.

     But when we reached the edge of the island and he tried to steer me around, I resisted and kept going.

     "Hey, what are you doing?  We can't go home just yet, bud."  He said before pulling even harder.

     I gave in and turned around.  I need everyone else anyway.  But tomorrow, I will have everyone and be able to take them to the Moon Mountains.  Whisper is counting on me, I can't let her down.

     Ah, that's it.  Another horrible chapter done.
