(WHISPER'S POV)

After I chased away that creep who was bothering Elanor I took her for a nice, relaxing flight.  I flew her above the cloud cover for about an hour before I returned her back down to her hut.  Toothless and Hiccup were already there, waiting for us.  I landed down and walked over to Toothless.

"Your getting attached to her, aren't who?"  He said with a sly smile.

"What, no!  She's just a human."  I said looking away from Toothless as an embarrassed blush flushed over my face.  (Wait a second!  Can dragons blush!?)

"Well, we're leaving now.  So, you'll come right?"  He looked pleadingly at me.

"I'm sorry, I can't.  I have to know if there are still dragons like me.  Maybe I'll see you again."

"But, Elanor, Ocean, Floe and everyone else is gonna miss you."

I was about to reply but Elanor hopped on me.  I looked up at her questioningly.

"C'mon Whisper!  It's time to head to the edge.  Hiccup said that everyone else is waiting at the edge of the island."  She said.

I looked at everyone's expectant faces.  Should I go with them?  ...No.  I shook Elanor off and started biting my saddle.  Everyone, except Toothless, was shocked.  Finally the broken saddle fell off.  Elanor tried to grab me but I growled at her to stay away.  She stopped and just starred at me with shock.  I then quickly rose into the air.  As I started to fly away, I cast one more hesitant glace at them.

Hiccup was in shock, Elanor looked heartbroken and Toothless wouldn't even look at me.  I'm sorry.

And so, I began my long journey I didn't know how long it would take me, but I knew it would be much farther then the Whispering falls.  The first Night Fury's to travel there took months.  But, I might be a little closer then they were.

(TOOTHLESS'S POV)

I turned my head away as she left.  If I didn't, then I might have try to follow her.

"Quick, bud!  Let's follow her!"  Hiccup jumped on my back.

I didn't move.  I kept my eyes closed and my wings in.

     "Toothless?"  He said, concerned.

I looked up at him and grunted softly.  He got off me and looked at Elanor.

"I'm sorry Elanor.  She always was wild.  I guess she just wasn't ready for a rider."

Elanor looked like she was gonna cry. but didn't.

"I'm fine."  She said as she passed Hiccup and got on me.  "We shouldn't keep the others waiting."

Hiccup nodded and got on me as well.  I could feel that Elanor wasn't really fine.  She felt like she wanted to scream.  She was full of anger, sadness, disappointment, and grief.  For both her mom and Whisper.

I jumped up and flew in the opposite direction Whisper did.  At the edge of the island we met up with the rest of the gang.  And we left for home.

     "Where's Whisper?"  Asked Fishlegs.

"She left. She's gone back to the wild now."  Said Hiccup.

     Everyone gave out little gasps.

"Aren't you gonna go get her?"  Asked Snotlout.

"No.  She never wanted to be with vikings.  She should be wild.  Who knows?  Maybe she's going back to her kind."  He looked down at me.

I wish I could have gone with her.  But, Hiccup needs me.

We flew the rest of the day until we came upon a large island at sunset.  We landed there and set up camp.

(HICCUP'S POV)

After we were all set on the island I wanted to take Toothless on our normal sunset flights.  It would be the first one since I got him back.  I ran over to where he sat near the ocean water.  I stopped before I reached him and realized he was starring at the stars reflection in the water.  He then opened his wings, as if he were about to fly away.  Then, just when a dragon would have flown away, he put his wings back to his side.  He repeated this a few times.

     He-he misses her...

I felt a bit hurt that he wanted to be with her.  I slowly and quietly walked back to the group and went straight for Astrid.

"Hey, can we talk for a bit?"  I asked.

"Of course."  She dropped the firewood she was carrying and we went over to Stormfly.

"I think Toothless misses Whisper."  I said.

"Of course he does!  She was the only other of their kind.  But, in the end, he chose you."  She said.

Her words made me fell a bit happier, until I remembered what I was about to suggest.

"I think I should let him go with her.  He- he should be with his own kind."  I blurted out.

"What?  Hiccup, are you sure you want to do that?"  She asked, surprised.

     "I think so."

"Wow, I was not expecting that!"  Said a voice from behind us.

Snotlout, Fishlegs, and the twins walked out from behind where Stormfly was laying.

"Were you guys listening this whole time?"  Asked Astrid.

     "Maybe."  Smirked Tuffnut.

"Hiccup, are you really gonna let Toothless go?  Just like that!?"  Exclaimed Fishlegs.

"He should be with his own."  I replied.

"How will he get to her without you?"  Asked Snotlout.

"I can modify one of his spare fins so he can fly by himself."  I said.

"Okay, when do you plan on doing this?  He won't be able to track Whisper if he doesn't get back to that island soon."  Said Astrid.

"I'll start right now."  I said.

I ran over to where I set my stuff down at and grabbed his last spare fin.  I memorized how to create it from last time.  It took a bit of engineering but I finished it by midnight.

We all walked over to where Toothless still sat, dragons and all.

"Hey, bud.  I've got something for you."  I said, holding up the tail fin.

He looked at me and everyone else with a questioning look.

Sorry for the way Whisper left.  I had serious writers block trying to figure out how she would leave.  Thanks for reading, voting, and following.  I hope you liked it!                        Word Count:  1036!
