CHAPTER 9- THE MOON MOUNTAINS!

(ELANOR'S POV)

     I love exploring the edge!  And I've already caused plenty of trouble.  Like:  Accidentally setting Fishleg's hut on fire, angering a pack of Terrible Terrors, getting Gustav lost in the forest, and almost getting eaten by a Groncle. (Which happened because I disguised myself as a rock so I could get a closer look at them).

     Despite what happened with Tuffnut, we're good friends now.  He and his sister are always teaching me new pranks, which I like to pull on Snotlout and Gustav.

     Snotlout and I don't really get along, to say the least.  'She only causes trouble and can't help with most stuff because she won't pick another dragon!  I say we send her back.'  Those were his exact words after I filled his boots with Hookfang's dung.  Which he deserved, because he was supposed to pick it up but instead told me to do it!  

     Ever since I started living with Astrid I've been feeling a lot happier.  She helped me get most of my grief out of the way.  I think Astrid likes taking care of me, except when I get in trouble of course.  She gives me fighting lessons everyday, their usually super fun!  Someday I'll be just as good as her.  She'll also take me on early morning flights with Stormfly.  Plus she never gets mad at me when I prank Snotlout or Gustav, she has even helped me once!

     Hiccup is pretty cool, I guess.  He just stays in his hut all day.  I think Astrid might be really worried about him.

     Fishlegs keeps trying to help me relax with some weird form of meditation.  He said he tried to do the same thing with Gustav once.  It is soooo boring!  All I do is sit on a frickin' stone all day!

     Gustav is always acting like my boss.  His stupid ego is just as big as Snotlouts.  

     But, all in all, I really like it here.  I get treated the same way as everyone else.  I feel at home here, something I only ever felt when I was with my mom.

     "El!"  I heard Astrid call.

     "Well, looks like I'm needed, see ya!"  I rushed away from Fishlegs and that Thor-forsaken stone.

     I heard him let out an annoyed sigh, but I didn't bother to turn back.  I saw Astrid waiting for me right outside Fishlegs hut.  She was on Stormfly.

     "Is something wrong?"  I asked as I hoped on Stormfly next to her.

     "There's something you've got to see."  She immediately had Stormfly speed away.

     We seemed to be going towards her hut, but when we made it there she just passed it.  Up ahead I could see a large hut.

     "Is that-"  I began.

     "Your hut?  Yes, yes it is.  This is what I wanted to show you."  We swiftly landed right next to it.

     "Wow, this looks amazing!  It's way bigger then I ever expected."  I was in awe at it.

     The outside was made beautiful dark oak wood.  It was two stories big, with a small balcony on the second.  When I walked inside I saw it was a lighter shade of wood.  The first floor had a kitchen and table in it.  With a staircase against the right wall.  After examining the first floor I rushed up to the the second floor.  It had a large bedroom with a door leading to the balcony in the center.  In the bedroom was a large bed next to a desk.  There was also a bookcase with many boring books and fact cards in it.  I can only imagine who put this in here.  I thought sarcastically.  Both floors were made of the same dark oak as the outside.  I jumped out on to the balcony and looked for Astrid.

     "I. Love. This!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

     She chuckled before replying,  "I know it's still pretty empty, but you can add whatever you want to it.  Plus It's next to mine, so I can still try to keep you out of trouble."

     "Good luck with that."  I murmured to myself.  

(WHISPER'S POV)

     It was just after nightfall.  It's been a few months since we began the the journey.  I was used to all the traveling, but Toothess was a different story.

     "How are you still going?  I feel like my wings are about to fall off!"  Complained Toothless.

     "Maybe it's because I don't spend all my energy talking!"  I snapped back at him.

     "I think we should have slept longer.  I barely got any."  He continued with his whining.

     "Stop being such a baby you had already gotten three full hours before I had woken you."  

     "When I was with Hiccup I would get like eight to nine hours before I woke up."  He retorted.

     "Well your the one that chose to come with me instead of Hiccup."  I said.

     He grumbled something I didn't quite catch.  

     "C'mon ya big baby!"  I raced down towards the ocean in a nose dive with my wings folded at my side.

     "We'll see who the baby really is!"  He roared happily as he chased after me.

     I broke the waters surface first.  I didn't have to wait long before Toothless clumsily crashed in.  I opened my mouth and bubbles came out.  Toothless touched one with his claw before it hit the surface.  I looked at the fuzzy image of his head.  I swam back up, brushing him with my tail as I went.  I sped out of the water and up to the clouds.  Bits of water droplets sprayed off me.

     RAWWWHH

     I looked behind me to see Toothless with his tongue hanging out as he built up speed behind me.  

     "First one to that island wins!"  He roared.  

     "Your on!"  I challenged.

     I didn't really pay much attention to the island as we flew towards it.  That is, not until I saw the moon and stooped dead in my tracks.  The moon was right above the highest mountain peak, shinning a path to the island.  I barely even noticed Toothless race past me.

     "We found it, the Moon Mountains."  I whispered to myself.

     I slowly flew after Toothless.  I landed on the rocky surface next to him.  

     "Ha!  Take that.  You are so the baby now!"  He smirked as he did some sort of victory dance.

     I was frozen with my eyes wide as I stared at the island.

     "Hehe... he?  Whisper, is something wrong?"  He asked waving his tail in front of my frozen face.

     "We're here."  Is all I managed to say.  

     "What do you mean?  Where-"  He didn't finish his sentence as he realized what I meant.

     "The Moon Mountains, birth place to all Night Furys."  I was in awe.

     "But, where are all the Night Furys?"  Asked Toothless.

     I scanned my surroundings and realized he was right.  There was not a single Night Fury to be seen.

     "Their... gone.  The sickness my mother spoke of must have had a way more tragic effect then we ever thought.   All the other Night Furys are... Dead!"  Me and Toothless were horrified.

     We really are all alone in this world, aren't we.
