A little backstory on Ocean and Floe's bond and Ocean's protectiveness over Floe!
Told in third person POV!
Dun Dun Dunnnnn!!!~~~~~~~~~~The Story of Ocean and Floe's bond~~~~~~~~~~
~~~A few weeks after their hatching~~~A blue baby Terrible Terror let out a gentle, squeaky yawn. While a light green one was sleeping lightly by her mother's side.
Baby Ocean had finished stretching and was ready to play. She gingerly tip-toed over to her sleeping sister and mother.
Her big dark blue eyes drifted to her mothers resting face then slowly over to the tiny figure laying next to her, Floe, barely bigger then a large mouse.
A gibberish squeak escaped her. And the little green dragon opened its yellow eyes.
"Play!" Chirped Ocean.
Floe blinked her eyes in response and gave a challenging smirk before using her wobbly legs to lift her body from her mother's side.
Once up, they bounded around the fresh smelling stump, playing a form of dragon tag.
Floe was chasing her sister in a big circle before finally catching up and pouncing on her.
The impact unbalanced her and they both hurled into a soft, crunchy wall. The crash had destroyed the delicately placed leaves and reveled a hole in the stump.
I bright, blinding light was coming from the hole.
The little dragons stood up and walked closer to the freezing light, as if they were in a trance.
Crunch!
Ocean had taken the first step outside and onto the icy snow. She looked down and sniffed at the frozen white beneath her feet. This was their first time adventuring out of the den.
Close after her came Floe, full of energy and daring risks.
Floe jumped into the snow and started running circles around Ocean.
They laughed and bounced around for only a few minutes before a terrible accident. Floe had come to close to the steam and the snow beneath had broken off, sending her hurdling into the half frozen water.
Ocean let out a squeak of terror as her sister's head banged against a rock and she slowly started to sink.
The squeak had woken their mother, who came running outside.
"Ocean! Where is your sister?!" She asked, worriedly.
"She hurt!" Wailed Ocean. "In water, gone!" She was referring to how Floe had sunken out of sight.
Her eyes widened with fear for her hatchling and their mother, Willow, ran to the bank and dived into the water.
Moments passed and all the little Terrible Terror could do was hold her breath and hope for both of their safe returns.
After a minute of dead silence, a gasp sounded and something had broken through the waters surface.
Ocean ran to the edge and watched as her mother carried an unconscious Floe in her mouth.
They made it out of the water and away from the bank. Ocean followed eagerly. Soon Willow set Ocean's sister down in the soft snow.
She wasn't breathing. She wasn't moving. Her head was bleeding. And her heart wasn't beating...
Ocean and Floe's mother began a whimper that soon turned into a mournful wail. Ocean couldn't believe her only playmate was gone. She wouldn't believe it.
Ocean suddenly jumped on top of Floe and screeched, "Back! Come back!"
And as if her words were magic a pitiful cough echoed out from her sister. Willow bent down and helped her daughter stand up.
"Are you okay, Floe?" Asked Willow.
"Who?" Asked the confused dragon.
"You, my daughter" She said.
Floe tilted her head, the rock and lack of oxygen had wiped her memory, in a way.
After that day Floe had never been the same. She used to be a ball of energy, ready to try anything, always getting her sister in trouble. But now she was very shy and wanted only to be with her sister or mother. Ocean acted as her big sister and helped her in many ways.
"Promise me you will always take care of her?" Asked Willow after putting Floe to bed.
"Always!" Said Ocean with a look a seriousness on her face.
After time Ocean grew very protective of her sister. And would care for her with all her heart. And would never let anyone hurt her. Ever.
~~~~~~~~~~The End~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I hope you enjoyed today's bonus chapter!
And the little story on Ocean and Floe.
They are really special in future events in the third book.Welp, I'ma go now. See y'all Saturday!!!!!!!!
