(ASLAUG'S POV)

I sat in the old dusty house.  My father was just about to leave and see what all the commotion was about.

"Stay here, and don't mess up anything!"  He growled before slamming the door as he left.

My father never really cared for me.  He only kept me around because I was useful.  But now... He won't feed me.  He said I would have to hunt for myself.  He won't help me in anyway!  I thought I had meant more to him.  When he risked everything to come get me, he was really just wanting the son who helped to take care of the family.  Not a blind runt.

After a few silent moments of thought I heard footsteps from outside.  They were heading quickly for the door.

Must be Ryker's men!  I held my head low and waited for  them to enter.  Sometimes, they would take the rebels or higher class vikings and tie them up in the middle of the town without food or water for a whole day.  But, why come after me?  Hopefully they will pass by when I once again pledge my allegiance.

The door swung open and a female voice spoke shakily,  "Uh... Aslaug?"

Huh, I don't remember any female hunters.

I rose my head slowly and heard two horrified gasps.  The sound they made and the disgusted face I could only imagine they wore hurt more then I had expected.

Was my father telling the truth?  Do I really look so horrifying and disgusting?  I must.

"I-I'm sorry!"  I said, hoping the hunters would leave me instead of taking me and showing my horrible face to the rest of the village.

"The blast..."  Spoke the same female voice.

"It... It did this to me.  Please, I am still loyal to you!"  I begged.

"What?  Do you know who we are?"  Asked a slightly familiar male voice.

I think he was the one that stood against Ryker right before I got hit.

"You... You ride the Night Fury.  Right?"  I replied.

"Yes, I'm Hiccup.  Me and Astrid are here to see if your okay."  He said.

"I'm not.  Someone had taken a shot at Ryker and it hit me instead.  I can't see anymore...  Just blackness."  I said, darkly.

"Do you remember who?"  Asked the female voice.

"No.  I can barely remember anything.  The only thing I remember from the incident was your voice, being yanked, and hot.  Burning hot fire.  I was screaming, I think."  I brought my hand up and touched my face.  "And pain.  I remember the pain.  My face was melting, disfiguring, burning."

At these words I heard the female viking gasped and her breathing gave away the fact that she wanted to cry.

"Can I do something for you?"  I asked awkwardly as Hiccup comforted the girl, Astrid.

"No, but there is something we- I have to tell you."  Said Astrid.

"Do you know who did this to me?"  I asked.

I heard Astrid take a sharp breath in, as if she were about to answer my question with bad news.

"No."  But it seems that Hiccup had beat her to it.

"Oh.  Okay, well, can you leave me be now?"  I asked a bit rudely.

"Y-yeah, sure.  Sorry."  Spoke Astrid and I listened as their footsteps left the hut and the door creaked shut.

"Ugh!"  I punched my bed before laying down in it.  "Someday, I will find out who did this to me and kill them!  I will have my revenge."  I then waited for my fathers return.

(HICCUP'S POV)

I pulled Astrid outside and we walked away from the hut.

"Hiccup!  Why did you not tell him that I was the one who shot him?!"  Asked Astrid angrily.

"Because, there really wasn't any reason.  And he might just end up getting angry and trying to do something stupid."  I replied.

"But, Hiccup!  He deserved to know the truth!"  She growled, not as angry as she wanted to appear.

"I'm sorry.  Can you please just not tell him.  At least for a while?"  I asked, grabbing her hands.

"Fine, but I feel so bad.  Can't we at least do something to help him?"  She asked.

"I don't know if there is anything we can do to help him."  I said.

"Come on, we'll discuss it more with the gang."  I said.

     She nodded and we left.

(ELANOR'S POV)

"Wait!  He can't see?!"  I gasped as Astrid and Hiccup finished explaining things to me, Fishlegs, Snotlout, and the twins.

     "Yeah."  Said Astrid.

"Wow, you really messed this one up Astrid.  I mean-"  I threatened a fist at him and he snorted but shut up.

"Astrid, we'll help in any way we can..."  I muttered the last bit under my breath, "Even if it is Ass-laug."

Snotlout, who was standing next to me and seemed to have heard me, gave me a chuckling snort.  He had enjoyed my comment.

"Anyway, I'm gonna go.  I have to check on the village again."  I said, walking away from the group.

I headed from house to house asking if anyone was in need of something.  I had handed out many supplies, like food, water, blankets, and I even helped some vikings with their house repairs.

I had started with the high-tiers and was now in the low-tier part of town.

As I was handing Luchvask a few blankets when I heard a man yelling and looked to my right.

Hey, that's Ass-laug's father.  I thought as I watched him.  He was pulling his son out of the house.  Roughly, I might add.

"I was hoping the riders would take you!  But when I returned and you were still here, and some bread was missing, I knew I had to get rid of you!  I never thought you would resort to thieving from your own father!"  He roared and threw him on the ground.

"Well, I shouldn't have had to!  My 'own father' should have been taking care of me!  Not telling his blind son to go hunt for himself!"  He growled back, as he stared blankly from where his fathers footsteps were leaving.

His father turned back and pointed a finger at his son, although he couldn't even see it, and said,  "Now, you listen here, boy!  I was willing to take care of you as long as you were working but like this, I'm not even your real father!  You were dumped by my doorstep as a baby.  I didn't have to keep you, I could have thrown you to the river.  But I fed you, and you worked.  Now, you can't work anymore!  So I won't continue to feed you!"  He said before walking back into his house.

Aslaug sat on the ground, stunned.  I slowly started to walk towards him.  I have to help, right?

Okay, done for today!  Thanks for reading and everything else!  I hope you enjoyed the chapter!   Goodnight, everyone!                    Word Count:  1159!
