(ELANOR'S POV)
"I still don't agree with this." I snorted as we flew back to the Northern Stone Tribe.
"First thing we agree on." Said Snotlout from in front of me.
We were all flying in formation with Hiccup and Astrid on Stormfly, they were leading us. I rode on Hookfang with Snotlout. It was either him or Gustav, I made my choice. I wouldn't go with Fishlegs 'cause he would just spend the whole trip trying to teach me stuff. And the twins, well... their practicing Thor-knows-what. They said that they were going to put on a show for my tribe. If I went with them it would just be never ending flips, twirls, and nose dives.
"Ahhhh!" Screamed Tuffnut.
"Wooohooo! Haha, yeah!" Yelled Ruffnut as they dove down towards the ocean.
Their cheers soon changed to yells for help when they couldn't pull up in time. They crashed under the waves but soon emerged back with more cheers. Case in point.
(WHISPER'S POV)
After I had finished explaining everything to the dragons Meelo pulled me away and we got some alone time to just chat. Toothless was telling crazy stories to the fledglings, well those who's mothers allowed them to go near the'filthy, viking loving dragon'. I doubted the stories were real though, stuff like, visiting a village of flying women and eating an eel that turned him insane.
"The dragons you just spoke to were the leaders of our island. They were born from the same mother. It's a tradition." Said Meelo.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Well, if a mother gives birth to three eggs, one silver, one dark blue, and one black, then, by tradition, they will be the new heirs to the throne. That could have been us if if we had a silver sister!" She said.
"What if no one gives birth before the other leaders die?" I questioned.
"Then the elders of the clan pick out the strongest, bravest, fastest, smartest, and most noble of each colored Night Fury." She said.
"Okay, but what if two different mothers give birth to three eggs, all different color, at the same time?" I asked.
"Then any three of those six, whether or not their siblings, with the best abilities and qualities of a leader will be chosen by the elders." She said.
"Interesting little set up you've got." I said.
"Yeah, well, it works." She said.
"Hey, are you still as tough as you were when we were kids?" I asked.
"Way tougher, I can beat you in a race any day!" She boasted.
"Oh, really?" I said, sarcastically.
"Wanna find out for yourself?" She said as she lifted her wings threateningly.
"Your on. One..." I readied myself next to her.
"Two..." She said.
"Three!" We both yelled together as we took off into the sky.
She quickly gained the lead, but I wasn't far behind. She flew towards the peak of the mountains. It was snowy up there. I stopped flying and called her over when we flew past them.
