Ch13

~Emily's pov~

I watched Paul leave with pain and tears in his eyes. I didn't try to stop him, he needed some time alone. I waited until Sam got here for I asked the nurse if there was any news of Lisa. Sam walked in with red puffy eyes and sat down beside me, he looked at me and I shook my head no. I looked around and everyone was in the same state as Sam. The doctor came out and looked over at us and then walked over to us. Me and Sam stood up to talk to him, I grabbed Sam's arm and held on tight. I held so tight that if he wasn't a wolf then his arm might have been broken.

“We finally got her stable. Sara and Candace are awake, but Lisa, she still hasn't woken up yet. The car hit them hard as if Lisa was driving only 5mph and the other people were drive over 50mph. Where Lisa's a wolf, she's healing herself but it will take some time. So if she woke up today or tomorrow, I want to keep her here.” Dr. Cullen said softly. “Does anyone want to see her? She's in her own room, along with the other two.”

Sara's brother nodded and went to his sister's room with Embry. I'm glad Nathan didn't blame Lisa for the accident, but I have a feeling knowing Lisa, she will blame herself. I looked around and Paul hasn't gotten back yet. Dr. Cullen walked off after telling us what room number Lisa was in. I looked at Sam and asked him to call Paul or have someone go over there to get him. Sam sent Jared to go and get Paul while me and him walked into Lisa's room. She was laying there just like she was just sleeping. Sam wrapped his arms around me as I cried into his chest. Lisa has been like a sister/daughter to both me and Sam, well more of a daughter but still.

~Paul's pov~

I was laying on the couch watching a video of me and Lisa on my phone when there was a knock on my door. I got up and answered it to see Jared standing there. I sighed and let him in and sat back down on the couch right where I was before he showed up.

“Why are you her Jared?” I asked not looking up.

“Sam told me to come get you. Lisa is stable now and they have her in her own room. Her wolf healing is working but where she was in critical condition it will take some time. Sara and Candace are awake but Lisa isn't. I think that Sam and Emily think that if you were there then maybe just maybe she would wake up. But Sam wants us all there. Paul I know you and Lisa had a fight but could you put that aside for right now and just be there for her, for all of us?” Jared asked looking right into my eyes.

“No. I hurt her and when she wakes up I know she wouldn't want to see me.” I said while I put my phone down onto the Coffey table.

“Paul, the in the other car was a leech and no not one of the Cullen's. The leech doctor said Lisa was driving about 5mph while the other person was driving about 50mph. On my way over here I went to the place where they crashed and the other car smelled like a leech. They said they never found the body of the person in the other car. Paul there was a picture of Lisa in the other car.” Jared spoke as if he was in pain and tears.

“Fine I'll go but if Lisa wakes up and asks me to leave then I'm leaving.” I said as I stood up and grabbed my phone.

I looked at the picture that was my phones background. It was of Lisa sleeping. I took it when I got to Sam's off patrol one morning before she woke up for school, of course I took it before I asked her out but Jared didn't mind. He just shook his head with a big smile on his face. I closed my phone and got into Jared's truck and we drove off to the hospital. When we got there we walked into and up to Lisa's room. Sam and Emily were sitting in the chairs by Lisa's bed while everyone else was standing. I had to say, Lisa had a big room considering it fit all of us in it. I spotted Lisa laying on the hospital bed, my heart dropped and the next thing I knew Emily was hugging me telling me it's going to be ok and it's ok to cry. I didn't even know I was crying until she said it. Sam stood up and had me sit down and Emily sat beside me. We all sat there until visiting hours were over and only one of us could stay behind. Jake staid I would have but I was told that I needed sleep and to rest up. I didn't like the idea of Jake staying but I didn't argue. I went to Sam's and while everyone ate I went up to Lisa's room and laid down on her bed. I guess I feel asleep because Jared was waking me up.

“Paul, man, wake up. Sam wants to talk to all of us down stairs. I think he wants to talk about Lisa, he just got off the phone with the hospital.” Jared said in a little bit of a worried voice.

“Did you hear what all was said on the phone?” I asked shooting up from Lisa's bed.

“No, every time some one got close Sam would leave the room.” Jared said sadly.

I nodded my head and got up and went down stairs with Jared and sat on the couch. Sam walked into the room and sat down looking at the floor.

“Where's Emily?” Seth asked softly.

“She's going to be staying at your place for a while. Me and her have our own way of dealing with this.” Sam said as a few tears fell down his cheeks.

“What's wrong? Did Lisa pass away?” Collin was crying, Leah went over to him and tried to calm him down.

“No but she did wake up. Paul and Jared I'm sorry but she doesn't remember anything that's happened in the last month or so. She still thinks she's dating Jared and that Paul still hates her. Jared I would have you brake up with Lisa but.....”

“But she's in a fragile state I couldn't do that to her Sam I'm sorry. I'll call Kim and tell her everything, she'll understand besides Kim is went back to live with her grandmother tonight. She will be there from now until October and it's only May but it's April in Lisa's mind.” Jared looked over at me.

“Paul I'm sorry but maybe she will get her memory back.” Sam said as he stood beside me.

“No it's fine I can befriend her again and everything. I know it's wrong for me to say this but I'm glad she doesn't remember the fight but I'm glad she's ok.” I took a deep breath. “I'm going back to sleep.”

No one said anything as I walked back up to Lisa's room and sat down on her bed. I cried my eyes out until I fell asleep once again thinking of the fight.
