Forever and Always

Part XVIII Together a little longer

"Where is she?" Zen demanded as he walked into the king's chamber.

Soba looked at him and said, "Where is who?"

"God dammit, you know who i am talking about, Where is Shirayuki?" Zen angrily yelled.

"She is out fighting against the western empire, i told her to go make sure they don't make it to my country. If she can do that i said she could go free, but we all know that isn't going to happen." Soba said.

Zen's rage only inflamed more as he said, "You know her condition and you would still make her go out and fight? You are a monster."

"Oh, the baby, I'm just letting you know, when it is born, it will be raised and Phoenix's and I's child. You are not in the picture. I will be the father." Soba said with his arrogant attitude.

"Like hell you will," Zen said as he drew his sword.

Soba stood from his chair and also drew out his sword. The two of them stood facing each other in the center of the room waiting for the other to make the first move.

"Zen!" a shout came from down a hallway, they both looked and saw Kiki and Mitsuhide running towards them. The two made it to the room and stopped at the door as they saw what was happening. "We better stay back," Kiki whispered to Mitsuhide. He merely nodded in response.

Soba decided to make the first move and swung his sword at Zen. Zen quickly stepped back and barely missed it. The two kept attacking each other without giving any leeway. They continued like that for about 10 minutes when Soba stumbled and Zen took the opportunity to attack. He backed Soba into a corner and had the tip of his blade at Soba's throat. He inched closer and tore a layer of skin off his throat. Tiny trickles of blood fell from the new wound. Zen was ready to kill this man for putting his lover in danger.

"Stop!" Mitsuhide shouted and ran over to Zen. He quickly took the blade out of Zen's hand and dropped it to the floor. "You can't kill him!" He shouted again. Zen seemed to have finally snapped out of his dazed and looked at the pathetic man in front of him. Soba was on the ground wide out as sobs left his mouth. He was terrified of the man standing before him.

Zen, Obi, Kiki, and Mitsuhide stayed in Vassness's castle to wait for Shirayuki's return. They waited a long time. Months had passed. Just when all hope was lost of her returning, on the horizon, Zen saw a small red headed girl staggering towards the castle. Zen started running towards the girl as he yelled "Shirayuki!" he made it to the girl, and she collapsed in his arms. Zen carried Shirayuki back to the castle and immediately brought her to the medical wing. He noticed a small lump in her stomach area, it made him happy to know they had both survived.
