There was nothing to stop the race of her heart as it thundered in her chest as she stood before that familiar door. Fingers curling and clenching at her side as she worked up the courage to ringknocksomething because she was going to explode otherwise.
It was not healthy to be this nervous over something so simple, but Roman loved Bella dangerously and that door was standing between them, a wall that represented everything that she felt inside. It was some sort of symbolism thing wherein once that door opened, Roman wasn't sure if he would ever be able to close it again if she could ever close shut out what she felt for Bella.
She took a deep breath, giving herself a final pep talk before she knocked on the door with a silly tune she had learned from her dad when she was younger. A flush of embarrassment rushed through her the moment she did it and she could easily imagine the flush that had burned through her cheeks and flared at her ears. It was silly to be so nervous, so anxious when she had spent the entire day with Bella as she had always wanted. It was impossible to still be this affected by one person - it made Roman feel quite helpless she silently waited for the door to open.
It was more damaging to her ego that she jumped once it opened, startling from her thoughts as Bella stood before her, smiling a little thing shyly at her, a secret laugh hiding behind her dark circles and thick lashes as the girl witnessed Roman jump with a yelp, a fiery blush overtaking her cheeks.
"Ready to go?" Bella asked, lips twitching into this tiny half-smile that hit Roman hard causing a quirky mess of a thing to burst out in the form of a smile.
She nodded, scared to open her mouth in case she said something dumb, and stepped back to make room for Bella to step out, trailing after the girl like some lost little animal. She felt like this odd mixture of heavy and light like her body was warring with itself on what she should feel. Giddy and nervous, a strange thing that made her skin feel like it was tingling, a euphoric sensation that burst in her chest as she watched Bella climb into her truck, slamming the door shut and working to crank the heat in the chilly cab. She found her to be so endearing, so wonderful even as she was doing the most mundane of actions.
Following after her, she settled in the same seat she had been in only this morning taking in the things she didn't notice on the drive to the hospital. It was clean, tidy wherein it didn't look brand new nor did it have that new car smell, but it looked good, lived in as one would expect a lot of the vehicles of Forks to look. Roman couldn't help but look around at everything, checking to make sure she hadn't accidentally smeared any of her blood anywhere. She hadn't, but she still felt like she had somehow felt a trace of it behind like the mess that she normally was.
The truck oddly enough didn't have a radio or at least not one that she could notice. The space that she would usually house it was empty, a hole in the dash area that looks like it was a clawed out, deep scratches left behind big enough to match with her hand. It made a shiver crawl down her spine, a swoop of dread in her stomach that had her prodding the stitches on her lip with her tongue.
There was a silence that made her quite anxious, a hand that wrapped around her throat and squeezed, Roman didn't know what to say or how to act. Was this a date? She certainly wanted it to be but the changes were incredibly slim, Bella still being in love with Edward or more than likely not being open to a relationship with another girl. It made navigating this much more difficult when she didn't have an injury to guide them.
"Do you know which movie you want to see?" she asked, peeking at the other girl through her hair.
Bella glances at her, a quick thing that looked more like it was a nervous tick than anything else, like she had forgotten that Roman was even there. "There's this, uh, thriller zombie movie that came out a little while ago. I was hoping to see catch that and maybe have a little time to get something to eat first."
