Roman had a one-track mind, one goal that drove her to take off ahead of her mates -- throwing herself in between trees as she followed the path that leads her straight to the young doe.

It was downed in an instant, the fire in her throat fading as she drank and drank and drank until it was limp and dry in her arms. Limp and dry in her and her thoughts were coming back to her. She laid it down gently, careful as she realizes that she killed one of the creatures that she had spent her life fighting to protect.

The shock that came at that was enough to knock her back. She sat on her heels, staring at the dead animal as she tries to figure out what it was that she was doing here. Why had she decided to do this again? She pushed it aside. She would go over her life choices later, deal with the guilt at the massive life change later because she was not going to be able to understand any of that now.

Still, Roman wasn't sure why she was making such a big deal out of this when it wasn't like she was a vegetarian before all of this. She was just being silly, she knew that she was.

Breathing out, she fell back into her mind, listening as Edward and Bella closed in. They had given her space at Edward's insistence, afraid that they would mess up her hunt somehow. She got the feeling he knew a lot about her than she did, but that always seemed to be the case.

Standing smoothly to her feet, she timed their approach as she sought out any other animals that might be nearby. She wanted quick, she wanted to feel satisfied now, as soon as possible, so that she could get back to her babies -- so that she could finally meet her son.

Her son that wasn't far from her now and if she was a betting woman, then she would have gone back to see him now with just the deer blood in her stomach. But she wasn't a betting woman and risking such a thing was something she was never going to do, no matter what.

Her eyes flickered shut as they got closer, their laughter growing louder as they teased each other, and Roman took off again, giggling to herself at the sound of Bella groaning at having to track her down again.

They would find her eventually, she knew, but by that time came, she was going to be home -- or at least that was what she wanted. They would want to limit her time with her children, fearful that she was going to lose control, but she wasn't going to let that stop her.

Roman was torn between hunting and turning back to see her mates and the babies. She knew that she just wanted to be with them, wanted to be near Edward and Bella, but the babies were at the front of her mind, the most important thing to her as she took down the first animals that she could find, the path that her mind set out, jumping out at her.

It drew her in a jagged path as she purposely left a couple for Bella and Edward as she made her way.

Why they continued to give her space as she hunts was beyond her, but it was a little bit annoying that they were keeping their distance.

She didn't think on it too much as she continued on her way, racing through the forest until that insufferable burn was gone and she was focused on her one-track goal instead.

There was an order that she needed to go through with to get what she wanted. She would see them later when they stopped lagging behind and decided to actually join her.

When she finally makes her way back to the house, hiding as well as she could so that no one would try to keep them away as they had done before. She didn't get a chance to speak about it with anyone, didn't' get the chance to ask, so she really had no clue how they had gone about it for Bella.

Still, even as Roman stood outside the home, eyeing her dirty feet and stained dress, she knew that she was in control -- she had to be with the calm, sort of steady feeling that thrummed through her as she listened to the heartbeats inside.
