"Well, I mean Zach is hot and he does like you and I don't think he'd kiss you for a joke. I mean, by the way you described it, even if he was your bully," Evan murmurs softly as he strokes my hair in rhythmic strokes.
I sigh into his lap. I turn my gaze towards him. "But he's... Zach. It's not like he's, I don't know, you? You know, that one cliché where the girl falls in love with her best friend."
Evan laughs as do I. "I guess, yeah. But anyone with eyes can tell that Zach is h-o-t. Really fuckin' hot." I roll my eyes.
"But why would he like me? And still like me? I don't understand," I groan.
"Well, my idea is: go find him and... I don't know, do some dirty dancing in the bedroom." Evan sneaks a quick wink at me.
"Evan!" I scream as I tackle him playfully. He lays me down onto the bed and tickles my sides. I scream laughing as I kick Evan off of me. We slowly fade off into a comfortable silence.
Evan sits up and pulls me with him. "No, but I'm serious. If he really does like you, he won't drop you. And I have a feeling you feel the same way."
I glare at Evan. "Shut up."
"You didn't deny it," he teases as I push his shoulder. He feigns hurt; I roll my eyes.
"Nor did I accept it." I turn away from him as my cheeks start to heat up. Maybe I do feel the same.
