DAY: 106

Lark

"Hey, Remy." Peter ran into the 'room', coming to a halt when he saw me. Peter was practically dressed like he was going to war.

"Lark." he said with a grin. "Good to see you up and about."

"Hi, Peter." I smiled at him.

"Yes, Peter?" Remy said, sounding annoyed.

"Snow started coming down thicker, you want us to send out the scouts now?" he asked.

"Yeah. Why not? Give 'em somethin' to do." Remy said.

"Full scout or half?"

"Half, send the newbies, I'm sure their itching to get out there." Remy said with a chuckle. "You can head on out with them too."

"Got it." Peter turned to me and winked before leaving.

"What scouts?" Logan asked.

"Oh. I took the liberty of making small or whole groups to go out scouting for those Skull cruisers that everyone has been hiding from. Recently there has been a rise in sightings around this area, we're just being careful." Remy answered. "But, each scouting comes back with good results and good feedback. Each day we're finding out more and more about how these Skull cruisers act and different ways to take 'em down."

Skull cruisers are what we started calling the small ships that fly around the city at night and sometimes in the day. They're like search drone, trying to spot life or people. A few people from the mall had dealt with them in their past, each one told us that when you think you're caught, or if you get into the spotlight,  you need to stay frozen. Because essentially you are. Hydra's coming up with newer ways to destroy this city, and probably more and more ways to control everything else.

"Since I started the little project I haven't lost a single scout. We've trained them well and we know how to stay out of sight and keep quiet." Remy added a moment later, Remy set down his beer bottle and stood up from the couch and pulled out a deck of cards from his pocket. Those famous cards that he used against me when we first came into contact with each other a while back. To sum it all up, Remy and I didn't get off on the right foot. We sort of met on bad terms and we almost killed each other. Remy with his cards and me with my arm.

"Well that sounds good. Only one problem with that." Logan said. "How do you know that you haven't been caught?"

"We haven't and we don't." Remy answered him, he crossed the room slowly and sat on the edge of the pool table.

"Hydra could have spotted you, they could know what you're up to right now. You could have eyes and ears everywhere." Logan told him. "That Peter kid, could be working for Hydra and you wouldn't even know it unless you interrogated the kid."

Remy shrugged. "I guess I'll have to do a routine check."

"What are you going to do? Interrogate them with a deck of cards?" I asked him. Remy grinned and flung one of the cards from his deck towards me, it landed on the couch beside me, as I picked it up I noticed that it was glowing red like it was on fire. It was an ace of hearts. I rolled my eyes at it and looked up at Remy. Flirting more and more with me, though his techniques are slightly improving from when we first met.

To fully admit the truth, Remy wasn't all that bad looking. Dark hazel eyes, on his good days they looked hazelish. Almost shoulder length brown hair, always had a deck of cards, but he was also unpredictable with whatever he wore. Sometimes he looked like a college student with a muscle shirt, other times he appeared professional and clean, either way almost all of his shirts were some shade of dark purple. But considering it was Remy it probably meant that he liked keeping up the element of surprise.
