"Here," Gerald handed Sarah a cold beer. He saw her sitting on the balcony of the master bedroom watching the stars.
Nico is sleeping like a baby on the big bed. Both of them couldn't go to sleep. It was really late at night. Sarah kept her eyes shut but she's very much awake. Gerald peeked at Sarah and Nico, seeing them both sleeping he got up. When he can't sleep he eats. He went down to the kitchen and heat up some food.
Pag balik nya sa kwarto wala na si Sarah higaan. Nico was all tucked in and comfortable. Then, he saw her sitting at the balcony looking up. He went down to the kitchen and grabbed two glass bottle of beer.
She looked up to him and accepted his offer. "Thanks," she said.
He took the empty seat next to her. "I've never seen them this much," he said. Also looking up.
"I use to star gaze a lot," she said. "With Shin when we were still young. We had the same dream. To be a star. But Shin went to pursue it first because-"
"You wanted to finish college first," he said. "I remember."
"You remember?"
"Yeap. I had a dream about it. I was with someone in the middle of the basketball court laying down. We were looking at the stars. Getting to know each other. She kept talking and talking and talking and I just listened and listened. I was intrigued on everything she was telling me. Even though she said her life was boring, to me she was the most interesting person," kwento ni Gerald and drank his beer. He sighed and bowes his head down.
"After knowing what happened to me, with the accident and all, I took it as a sign of new life. It gave me a chance to begin again. So I decided to no looking back," she explained. "It's my fault. I can't blame anyone else besides myself. My family and Shin tried to tell me my past but I kept pushing them not to."
"I wanted to move on. After the accident, when I was healing all I did was cry. Not from the physical pain but from a heartache. I don't know why but all I felt was the pain of a broken heart. I felt like I lost something or someone really great. Ken said I have a fiancé or had a fiancé. After that it made sense why I felt broken hearted, but the sad part was that I don't remember. So I decided to move on. I don't want to know what happened to her. To you." A tear rolled down his cheek.
She turn her head to look at him.
He looked back at her.
They stare at each other for a while. In silence. All they hear are their hearts beating equally. Neither of them have nothing to say. They're just quietly looking at each other.
