Chapter 6: A New Rival

After a week, the case went cold, and we resumed school. Not to mention the fact that as I walked over to school, Hanji didn't answer my calls or texts. And when I saw her at the front entrance, she was talking to that Andrew kid as well. No one knows how much it filled me with hatred.

"Levi." I turned to see Erwin walking close to me, seeing where I was seeing. "Ah... I see you-"

"Shut up." I say, completely ignoring the fact that Andrew was flirting with Hanji... I... I had to do something about him.

Erwin makes his way towards me, "Come on, what's wrong? Tell me-"

When I looked back, he took a few small steps back, "I rather not say."

He smirks, "Jealous about Andrew?"

"Pfft, what's it to you?" I say, shaking my head. "Just... leave me alone-"

"I can help." Turning, I saw that smirk on his face, "I can help-"

Rolling my eyes, I scoffed at him. "As I heard, what?"

I hear him sigh, "Hanji is still technically free... you do know that, right?" Free? The hell does that mean? She's not a price, nor she is a piece of property... but I did want her all to myself... no one should even have her... "Can't you just... I don't know, ask her out on a date or something?"

That word... foreign to my head. "A date?"

He laughs, "Jeez... I guess you really don't know anything, huh? I know it must be hard to ask her out when you really don't feel anything... but, just go up to her and ask her if she wants to go with you somewhere. Levi, you need to understand that Hanji... she doesn't know you well enough. And she would want to know you better before dating you."

"So... what's the whole point of a date?"

Erwin lets out a big sigh, "Come on, Levi. I-It's the best way for her to know you-"

"And then what? She finds out that I'm an empty shell that has no feelings? No way-"

"You can always tell her the truth-" He mumbles under his breath, but I heard it as clear as day. The truth... I'm an emotionless person, a yandere, according to my uncle... one that doesn't have any feelings... how would she feel? To love someone who doesn't know what it's like to love...

"Erwin... I can't..."

"W-Well why not-"

"What's the point of loving someone who can't feel? There's no point... all I can do is pretend and pretend that I'm normal when I'm not. I can fake tears, attempt at feeling pain when someone's hurt, and to sound like a certain person when I'm not. Hanji wants a normal person as her lover... and not me. Definitely not me..."

The bell rings, and I slowly walked away from Erwin. He utters his last words before heading to his first class. "See you around, Levi."

"Bye... I guess." I say, walking over to science class.

Then,  of course,  the shitty brat that Hanji, 'swoons over' comes to me and annoys me with his existence! "Oi! Levi!" I rolled my eyes to him as he caught up to me. "Wow, for a short dude, you sure can walk fast." He laughs as he teases me. Tch, no wonder I didn't want him around Hanji. "So, where are you heading?"

"Class."

He groans, "Dets. Levi."

"Dets?"

"You know, details?" Shaking my head, Andrew groaned again. "Man... it's like talking to a shell or something. Anyways, what class do you have next? I got science- with Hanji! Heh, maybe I get to sit next to-"

My fists clenched together again. "What is up with you and Hanji? Huh? You keep talking and talking about her, why the hell-"

"Jeez... note to self, don't upset the midget here..." Andrew leans towards me, "You want to know why? I'll tell you why... it's because... well, I told you before, right? I like Hanji... I fell for her... heh, maybe in science class, I'll ask her out or something... maybe, I can make her fall for me... like I fell for her..."

"Tch, good luck with that-"

"Levi!" Her angelic voice was so beautiful... what would I do without it? I turned around, seeing her bounce towards me. "Ah... I guess we're heading to science class, right?"

"Y-Yeah..." Why did I stutter again? Should I ask- no... Andrew's right there...

"Levi... I have a question for you..." She asks as she leans forward. "I made extra sushi for lunch, want some?"

"Sushi?"

She nods, "I'm in this class outside of school... it's for Japanese. And, we were learning how to make sushi, and... well, I accidentally made extras..."

Her laughter was a drug that I was addicted to... "Sure... I guess I'll have some..."

"Great!"

Walking towards class, Andrew shot me a look... as if... he was jealous- no... he can't be... those eyes were filled with hatred. Hell, if I was normal, I would've been scared out of my mind... thankfully, I'm not a normal human being, for once...

But... maybe an emotionless person can sense another emotionless person. Because, behind those fierce eyes... I saw an empty shell... how many other yandere people are there in this world I live in?

Knowing this... Hanji... with these feelings I still have... did I put you in danger? Will this become war between Andrew and I? I don't want you to get hurt... nor do I want to reveal the truth to you... because... I'm... afraid... to lose... another loved one...
