"Phil..." It's rare for them to call my first name, but whatever. My original partner, Melissa Laurens, was put on maternal leave... so I was left with Victoria Hummer. "Come on-"
"Don't you dare call me that..." I grumbled to her, overlooking reports. Some say they might've seen Levi and Hanji... but I can't go on guesses. "Melissa's the only one who can call me that..."
She rolled her eyes. "Come on..." She sits next to me, taking a ball off my desk. "I just wanna help-"
"Then help. Give me ideas. Why would he kill those people? What confuses me is the reason why he killed Moblit... Andrew provoked him and told us that Levi was the real one. But Daniel? Why him?"
"Hmm..." She tosses the ball into the air, catching it, and doing it all over again. "Tell me, Phil. You got a crush on a gal, and you see her being flirted with other guys... what would you do?"
Hearing that sparked an idea in my head. Swaying my chair to face her, I asked her with a straight face. "Jealously's the motive? He got jealous over a couple guys flirting with Hanji?"
She nods, "Of course... I mean, I'll be pissed... pissed enough to kill."
Rolling my eyes... that had to be it. "Victoria, why would I kill the father?"
She shrugs, "Well... that depends. If I want to successfully kidnap Hanji, I'll kill the father, that way there's no way for someone to chase after her, to keep the investigation open. But thinking from a jealous boy... perhaps... no. Daniel has nothing in his profile to suggest that he'll molest his own daughter. Hm... he wanted to save her? I would do that if I was jealous. But, save her from what?"
"Drinking... he's known to be an alcoholic person. Perhaps, he abused her... and Levi saw that. Killed him to get rid of him."
Victoria smiles, "Now we're getting somewhere..." She says, getting up to write on the clear board. No one wanted to work on the cold case... but I was dedicated. She write:

Motive: Jealously
Location: ?
Sighing, we were so close... I could never connect those deaths together... and after all, I was burden by these other cases that needed my help and knowledge than a forgotten case like this one.
"Now, all we need is their location."
"Small town?" I suggested. "No... otherwise someone would be pointing that out..."
Suddenly, Victoria rose her head. "Lemme see Hanji's records."
"Why? She's clean."
Victoria shook her head. Something doesn't make sense... why would she go to the prison to her ex-boyfriend and not visit him? The next week, she was kidnapped... but I did remember her being admitted into the E.R."
"Why?"
"Something about her not feeling too well." She flips through her medical records, her quick blue eyes examining every line. Soon, they sparkled, notifying me that she found something interesting. "There..."
