It's only been 7 hours, and all over the radio, I heard of Hanji's father's death... but she was sleeping. Coughing occasionally, but she had no fever... no wonder she went to the doctor's, even if she was hit because of it. Hanji told me that she needed regular check-ups, but after what I did... there was no way she could do that... perhaps, if we left this state... we can be together...

"Mmm..." She says before her eyes fluttered open. She turns over to me, "Levi... where are we?" She asks, fixing her seat up with a cough in her throat. But it sounded dry... and I had to do something. I couldn't let her suffer...

"Hanji, I can't take this..." I say, ready to use the blinker so I can cross to the left. "We're stopping at a small town... you need a doctor... now."

She sighs, attempting to hide her coughing. "No... I'm fine-"

"No you're not..." I say, kissing her when I stopped. "I may be heartless... but I do love you... so much..."

Defeated, she nods. "Okay... fine..."

Once I stopped in front of the doctor's office, she insisted that she goes alone... telling me how I should get some lunch for the both of us. Since she loves cake, I stopped through the small grocery store, picking out a small one, strawberry flavored.

After that, I went over to a weapon store, looking at pocketknives... and then, I chose to get the one that was similar to the one I had... a black handle, smooth and glossy. Upon buying it, I went down to a fast food restaurant, just grabbing something small before heading back to Hanji.

Driving up, I see her sitting on the bench outside, never looking up. Walking out, I rushed to her, holding her hands in mine. "Hanji... what's wrong?"

Looking up into her hazel eyes... I saw them. Stained with red lines, small waterfalls dripping down her sweet cheeks. She even struggles to say my name... "L-Levi..." She stutters before falling into my arms.

Rubbing her tears away, I kissed her forehead, carrying her over to the car. She was motionless as I buckled her in... and we left.

She eats her food quietly... and she was silent for over 2 hours, with only the available music playing on the radio. But once that quickly died, we were left in silence. I tried to grab her hand, but she pulled away. Did... I do something wrong?

"Han-"

"Please Levi... don't talk to me... I-I still need to process..."

"Process? Process what?" I asked, still attempting to hold her hand, but that's when she punched me... I didn't want to hurt her... she was too precious to me... so I couldn't... hurt her...

Pulling over to the side, there was no one around... who would be crossing state lines? No... it was just us. No cars driving past us... so when I pulled over, I turned over to her... and instead of a face full of anger... they were... scared...

"L-Levi... was it... a mistake?"

"What was a mistake? Running away together? Hanji... we're together now-" I attempt to hold her hand once more, but she whacks it away.

Her eyes become red once more and her voice panicky. "N-No... I always want to leave with you... I won't ever regret that... but it's not that." Her eyes looked down, perhaps with doubt? Did she tell the police where we were? No... she's too loyal to betray me... "Please..."

She leaves the passenger seat, opening the door and slowly tumbles out of the car. Where she fell was a slight grassy hill... so she rolled partially... and I followed her down. Once I slowly approached her, Hanji was standing up, vomiting a bit.

From the passenger seat, I pulled out a water bottle before walking down to her. Handing it to her, she takes it, drinks the whole bottle before speaking to me again. "L-Levi... I-I'm not too sure... if I can take it anymore..."

Taking her hand, she finally takes it, and I felt her warmth. "Can't take what? The deaths? Hanji, I promised I'll stop... I won't hurt anyone unless it was absolutely necessary..."

She manages to smile, "I know you would, Levi... but, that's not the problem. The problem is... not you... but me..."

"Hanji, if you think you're slowing us down, you're not." I say, kissing her lips, ignoring what happened earlier. "I love it... that we're escaping our terrible life back there... and living... together..." I say, wrapping my fingers around her hand. "You're never holding me back... ever."

She chuckles softly, leaning her head onto my shoulder. "I know... but it's not that, Levi. I keep telling you, but I don't think you understand... my fragile condition." She says, and when I looked back into her starry hazel eyes, they softened as she places her hand on her stomach. "Levi... I needed time to process... that it's not just us two who's traveling the country... but three."

Cocking my head to the side, there isn't any stray people... so what is she talking about that other person? "H-Hanji..."

Hanji smiles, shaking her head gently. "That's right... you don't know that kind of stuff, huh? Only girls know that really big change in their bodies..." She sighs before kissing my lips. "Levi... I'm pregnant... I mean... I've been pregnant for a week... ever since we did that... in the prison, remember?" She says with a soft chuckle before nuzzling my neck. "Levi... we're gonna be a family..."
