Heeji quickly swooped in and caught her phone after it being dropped from Yikyung's hand.
Speaking of Yikyung, her mouth hung open. I felt like it would have reached the floor. She was shaking, her eyes wide and twitching, all in utter shock. Like a thunder bolt hit her right in her head.
I lowered my head, unable to look at any of their faces any longer. I was sitting on the -stainless- side of the couch, my hands balled into fists on my lap and my eyes shut tight in fear of what's in store for me in the future, which is very, very, very close.
"So, you lied about a boyfriend to ditch us, broke Yikyung's phone and turns out you weren't lying about a boyfriend!?" Heeji flailed her hands around and shouted as I groaned in frustration.
"For the last time! He is not my boyfriend!" Fifteen year old me would have died right at this moment just thinking about it lol.
"Okay, when I asked you about the Hoseok which is your 'friend'," she made air quotes with her fingers with a sarcastic expression. "and the Hoseok from Yikyung's favorite group, I knew you were lying but at the same time I thought it was pretty impossible for you actually be friends with a celebrity and so I was a bit confused...but I didn't expect it to be true!"
I lowered my head and bit my lip before glancing at Yikyung, who was still as stiff as a statue.
"Yikyung?" I called with the softest tone I was able to make.
Her head was shaking while it turned to face me before she spoke, her voice shaky but deadly. "Y-Yeah?"
"...Are you ma-"
"Of course not! W-Why would I be!?" She shuttered as I hesitantly nod, a bit taken aback by her raise in volume. "How do you know him exactly?"
"Well..." I trailed off, afraid that I'll make one wrong move and Yikyung might explode.
"Okay, I don't even care how you know each other," she bent down on the floor infront of the couch and placed her hands beside me, staring into my eyes with her own, sad and beady eyes. "How long have you kept this?"
"It's not even a big deal! We're just friends!" I exclaimed.
"You don't know anything about him! How can you be dating him!"
"I AM NOT DATING ANYONE!" I snapped, frustrated by their shock and misunderstanding.
"What's his favorite color!?" Yikyung shouted, her expression stern but trembling.
"How would I know!?" I threw my arms in the air.
"It's green!See!? You don't know anything about him!"
"Yeah well, I know more about him than you ever will, cause' I know who his friends were in high school, I know which school he went to and what classes he took back then!" I beamed.
"Stop shouting at each other, the neighbors will most probably complain now." Heeji said, crossing her arms and staring at the scene we're making. "But, at least you weren't lying about the high school part."
"What!?" Yikyung's jaw dropped. "High school!?"
I froze. "Yeah...we were classmates."
Yikyung squinted her eyes and backed off. "I forgot you're from Gwangju too..." She massaged her temples, probably not being able to process all of this while I felt a little guilty for her countless mini heart attacks now. "Why didn't you tell me before?"
Because you would kill me for knowing him. "Reasons."
"The real question is...what were you doing in their dorm?" Heeji raised an eyebrow, her dark and venomous side returning. "Aren't there like seven guys?"
"No, no, no, no! Five of them were out! Only two of them were in the dorm since Hoseok was sick and Jungkook was-"
"Jungkook!?" Yikyung tightened her grip on the couch. "Wait, Hobi's sick!?...I was sleeping while he was suffering..." She lowered her head and spoke lowly but dramatically as both me and Heeji scoffed.
Yikyung suddenly gasped, frightening me and Heeji.
"That's why you seemed so interested in them recently..."
You realize now?
"I guess?" I sighed, drained of energy. "Look, we hadn't talked to each other for what? Nine-ish years? Of course we'd want to catch up. But it seems like he's always a bit busy -obviously- since he's a worldwide idol. And it's only been two weeks. Plus, Yikyung! You can meet him when you go to those fan meetings, right!? Why is it a big deal if I meet him too?"
"There is a difference between meeting and knowing someone..." Yikyung stared at me dead in the eye.
"It's just hard for her to process this, Sua." Heeji giggled.
Yikyung stood up, startling both me and Heeji before dragging her feet towards her room. "I need sometime alone..." And shut the door behind her.
"Well, how are you going to get out of this?" Heeji asked. "I mean you're like, the center of attention now.
I shrugged. "I'll just wait, it'll die out in a few days."
-
Two days later
It never died out.
Not even for a second.
I can't walk even one baby step into the outside world anymore. The second I do, stares, murmurs and gossip.
"Miss Rim! My sister was talking about you yesterday! She showed me a picture and I rezonized you!" The little girl shined a bright smile, as if my brain isn't messed up right now.
"That's great, Soomi, go to class now, will you? And it's recognized." I replied, drained of energy after trying to think of ways to get out of this situation. It isn't Hoseok's fault, neither it is Jungkook's. I did read the 'recording' sign of the door, but still chose to enter the room, idiotically.
The girl hopped out of the dance room and to class as I stayed seated on the wooden bench, my chin resting on my palm.
Every stare I get, every hurtful word I receive, all from complete strangers, it feels like I'v been shot by an arrow and bleeding. The bleeding will eventually stop, right?
