CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT — ♡ —
changbin who pressed his hand agaisnt jeongin's mouth told him to shush. listening to the conversation between seungmin and hyunjin. he could hear the sobs of seungmin.
then the sound of a slap.
jeongin's eyes widened but changbin put a finger to his mouth. mouthing, "don't say a word.."
"you know I love you right? I'm only like this because I don't want you leaving me. just like jinae."
"princess, don't cry. I hate seeing you sad."
"you're so beautiful, but look? there's a red mark on your face, I can paint your face with more marks if you don't listen."
"I don't want that.." changbin heard seugmin's voice say.
after that, they talked a bit more. he could feel the tension, hear the fear in seungmin's voice. maybe someone tamed him, but yet again.
the abused the wild animal in him instead.
hearing footsteps leaving in the opposite direction. changbin glanced from the spot they hid in, seeing no sign of the two boys. he sighed. taking his hand off of jeongin's mouth, the younger took a deep breath in.
"I could've stayed quiet myself!!" he whined, but changbin just rolled his eyes.
"yeah, you could've but you don't seem like the quiet type." changbin told. "you listened right?"
jeongin nodded, "every word. do you know that hyunjin boy well? is he like that, cause..it's kinda scary."
changbin shook his head, "not at all. only heard his name around school."
"well when I was friends with minnie he wasn't like that. he seemed so helpless when it came to minnie. he always listened, did anything for minnie...but I don't know what happened."
"dating a psycho you are a psycho." changbin shrugged, "yet again. I've never seen seungmin so vulnerable to another person. have you seen seungmin cry before?"
"minnie never cries! he hates being seen as weak."
"well, hyunjin is something else then." the older said, leaning against the wall behind him. "has seungmin ever showed this side?"
"of course not, minnie isn't like that." jeongin started out, "minnie likes to be the dominant one. he hates being a peasant to others. it isn't his thing."
"well things have changed." changbin abruptly told.
jeongin tilted his head like a confused puppy, "what are you saying?"
changbin then sighed. putting a hand on jeongin's shoulder, he looked him in the eye. "seungmin's and i's past may have not been the greatest. but the tears and the way he spoke are a cry for help."
"but jinnie was a victim too. what about him?"
"then we help both of them." changbin answered without hesitation. "what they have isn't called love. it's called unhealthy and abuse."
jeongin looked to the ground. he wasn't on board with the idea, it just didn't seem safe. "hyunjin seems like a bad guy..he hits minnie and makes him cry. I know minnie has done the same and all but I don't know what to say.."
"you think they belong together?"
jeongin pondered. smiling, he whispered.
"a psycho should be with a psycho. if they think it's true love. make them think it's true love. and one of them will realize the truth sooner or later. let them break each other."
