Chapter 15

~1 week later 

~Nalah's POV 

One week later and we finally got to our destination: Baltimore, Maryland. The journey has been absolute hell but we are all glad that we made it, especially the guys seeing as this was their ambition. The guys were barely about to contain their excitement as we saw the sign for Baltimore, especially Alex and Rian. 

"Man, I hope Lisa is okay." Alex sighed as we entered Baltimore. 

"Same with Cassadee, I hope she made it out in time." Rian said as he anxiously stared out the window, observing some walkers that were trying to follow the VW. The town was still wrecked but the roads weren't filled with abandoned cars or any wreckages so we were lucky gettin through. 

"Who are you going to see, Zack?" I asked a hyper Zack. 

"See if I can find my parents and my brother." He replied as he squeezed me tight.

"We'll find them." I said as Jack pulled into a cul-de-sac.

"Who's house are we at?" Raven asked, flexing her fully healed hand. We were all surprised at how quickly the hand had healed, seeing that it was cut off over a week ago.

"My sisters house. My brother was also staying here at the time the whole apocalypse started so hopefully, both of them are alive." Jack replied as he cut off the engine and we all got out the VW after gathering our weapons, myself having my trusty katana sword. 

"Ready?" Lauren asked Jack. 

"Yeah, I can't wait any longer." Jack gave Lauren a small smile and made his way up the path leading to the house. 

"You okay?" Zack asked as the two of us fell to the back of the group. 

"Yeah, I'm fine, handling things a lot better. Come on, we can talk afterwards. Let's find everyone." I entwined Zack's fingers with mine and we made our way up the path into Jack's sisters house. 

"What are your siblings called?" I asked Jack as he stood outside the front door. 

"My sister's called May and Joe's my brother." I nodded and Jack inhaled deeply before knocking on the door as a precaution. There was no response so Jack opened the front door to reveal chaos in the house. 

"Things don't look good here." Alex said as we entered the house and examined the mess. 

"Look, there's blood." Rian said, pointing to a blood trail that was on the ground that led into the kitchen. This doesn't look good. 

"Should we follow it?" Maggie asked us all. 

"Yeah, let's. For all we know, this could belong to either of my siblings and I need to find out who that blood belongs to." Jack replied as he tightened his grip on his weapon and followed the blood trail. We followed the trail into the kitchen and saw rotting food on the counters and a slunped body in the corner. 

"Oh god." Raven muttered. I picked up a can from the cpunter and dropped it on the floor, the can making an echoing sound as it dropped onto the ground. The body stirred slightly followed by a groan. As the body started to move, the skin started to tear and peel off the bone. The body lifted its head off the floor which made some of its hair fall out as it peeled its head off the ground. 

"Who is that?" I whispered to Maggie. Maggie looked at me and shrugged before we both looked at Jack, who was extremely pale. 

"Jack?" Lauren asked, waving her hand in his face. 

"What's wrong?" Raven asked. 

"That's May." Jack stuttered and pointed at the figure that had now turned round to face us and was showing its decomposing face.
