Chapter 17

~The next day 

~Nalah's POV 

"I feel so comfortable, I don't want to move." I whined as I turned away from Zack and buried my face into the pillow. It was surprising how much I missed the basic things in life. Zack chuckled softly as he poked my side again in an attempt to get me to move. 

"Come on, we need to get up. We've all slept a lot longer than we usually would and we still need to see if we can find Rian's brother Chase, Alex's sisters and my brother too." Zack said as he whipped the covers off me and dragged me out of bed by my feet. 

"Really?" I asked as he let me fall ungracefully on the ground. 

"Yes, really. Now, come on, we have wuite a bit to do today." He said as he picked me up bridal style and carried me down the stairs into the living room and dumped me onto the couch, not realising that Maggie was there. 

"Ow." Maggie groaned as she awoke from her slumber to find me lying on top of her. 

"Erm, hey... this is Zack's fault." I said as Maggie started to wake up properly and stared at me with a weid facial expression. 

"Whatever, just please get off me." Maggie groaned as she shoved me off the couch. 

"Thanks, Mags. After everything we've been through, this is how you repay me?" I questioned sarcastically in shock. Maggie shrugged before ruffling my hair and walked off to the bathroom, smacking Joe in the head on the way there to wake him up. 

"Well, that was a little eventful." Cassadee said as she walked into the living room and gave me a warm smile, which I returned. 

"Good sleep?" I asked as I folded Maggie's duvet whilst Cassadee folded Joe's after he walked off to wake up Jack. 

"It was better now that Rian was there. When he and Alex were away, Lisa and I slept in the same bed for comfort because we missed them and all. How did you sleep?" 

"A lot better. That bed feels like a bed of feathers, it's so comfy compared to the floor of a VW." I replied as we continued talking whilst clearing up. 

"Oh, look what the cat dragged in." I said as Jack entered the living room. 

"Oh, ha ha. Lauren loves it though." Jack smirked. 

"Like, it's too early for love." Lauren corrected Jack as she entered the room. 

"I am now emotionally hurt." Jack said as he pouted at Lauren. 

"Oh, dream on, pretty boy." Lauren said as she pinched his cheek. 

"What are we doing today?" Raven asked as she finally woke up. 

"Finding Rian's brother, Alex's sisters and my brother hopefully." Zack replied as he walked into the kitchen and came out a few minutes later carrying two plates and handed one of them to me. 

"Thanks." I said to Zack as he sat down beside me and I leaned into him as we started eating. All that was heard for fifteen minutes was the clatter of the cutlery against the plates as we all ate peacefully. 

~1 hour later 

"Right, so how are we doing this?" Joe asked as we all prepared to go out. 

"Group 1 is going with Alex to find his sisters whilst group 2 will help find Rian's brother and Zack's brother." Jack concluded as we scattered all our weapons on the basement ground. I was a little surprised that we still had quite a lot left, gun based but then again, we have mainly been using melee weapons but it's nice to have alternatives in case anything goes wrong.
