Ryan stares at the letter as they drive to Luke's house. "Brendon...maybe we should go back. I'm scared to leave Patrick alone." He stares at the windshield-wipers wipe the rain away."He'll be fine. Besides, imagine how happy they'll be if we can figure this out!" Brendon grips the wheel excitedly.
"Yeah..." Ryan smiles with a nod.
"Luke's house is coming up." Brendon pulls against the curb. He pulls the key from the engine and turns to Ryan. "Baby, look at me."
Ryan does.
"I'm positive Luke won't be home. If he decides to pop up, I won't let him see you, I won't let him hurt you. You'll be absolutely fine, I'll be fine. Let's just go in and out. Easy. Simple. One mission, find his office and get his handwriting."
Ryan nods. "I love you, Bren."
"I love you too." Brendon smirks and leans forward to kiss Ryan.
They hop out of the car and make their way to the quaint suburban house. It's one of those creepy neighbor hoods that all the houses look the same. Fan paneling, dark brown roofs, and a concrete pathway leading to a white garage door. The thing that sets Luke's house apart is the New England Patriots flag hanging above his garage.
Ew.
"Heh, heh, I bet his balls are deflated." Brendon giggles and points to the flag.
He earns a laugh from his boyfriend.
"Come on, Ive got a lock pick." Brendon heads to the door and starts to fidget with the lock.
"Where'd you get that, baby?"
"I've got friends." Brendon says just before the satisfying pop of the lock. "Careful." Brendon whispers as he sneaks inside and closes the door after Ryan.
It looks like a normal house. Very nice and clean. There's a large rug and a few cubbies at the entrance for shoes. A small chandelier hangs above. To the right is a dining room and to the left is a door leading to the garage. Ahead there are some stairs to the left and a kitchen and living room. Ryan clings to Brendon's arm as he walks around the living room. There's a room and a bathroom.
"What's that room?" Ryan asks, detaching himself and walking inside it.
Brendon waits for Ryan to check it. Ryan pops his head out. "It's an office."
Brendon quickly runs after him and into the office. It's really organized as well. A few shelves full of medals and such on the wall. A neat desk with pens in a cup and papers in file cabinets. There's a large portion of the wall covered by a random poster. Brendon's never heard of the band. Ryan and Brendon try each drawer.
All locked.
"Pick it, babe." Ryan points to a file cabinet.
Brendon spends a few seconds trying to pick it. A second later, it pops open. Ryan instantly digs through it as Brendon walks back over to the poster.
"Red Day?" Brendon cocks his head. He reaches up and frowns.
It's bumpy.
"It's bumpy..." Brendon whispers.
So he does something drastic.
He reaches up and tears the poster in half.
"RY!"
"BREN!"They turn to each other, their eyes falling onto the things the other was looking at.
Ryan is holding a random paper in his left hand and the letter in his right.
