Chapter 7
"Are you ok Laura you look like you're going to fall asleep in your peanut butter sandwich?" Jody had said at lunch. "I'm fine just a little tired." "You want some caffeine pills these will wake you up." Bridget had said while taking one herself. "What do you kids do to yourselves here in Hartville?" I asked taking a bite of my peanut butter and banana sandwich. "It's called peer pressure it happens every day in every high school." Heather had said. "I'm lucky I'm level headed I would never do any of the shit you guys do here," I said taking a sip of my milk. "Well welcome to Hartville, were all about peer pressure here." Bridget had said. "I don't want to go to gym class today; I got my period this morning." Heather had said. "I have double study hall this afternoon, gag me with a spoon." Jody had said. "I have health and then art." Bridget had said. "I have medical terminology and then study hall; I wish I could have a double study. How do you go about getting a double study?" I asked. "I only have double study because I chose to opt out of my free elective, that's the only way you can get a double." Jody had said. "And unfortunately for me, all my classes are requirements," I said. "Why are you taking a heavy course load anyways?" asked Bridget. "Because I need the credentials for pre-med requirements for college so that I can get into the best pre-med school there is," I said. "It's cool that you know what you want to do, but at the same time you can't put all sorts of crazy pressure on yourself." Jody had said. "I've always been a bit of a perfectionist," I said. Then the bell rang to go to our next classes.
