Chapter 17

At school early this morning when my second-period class broke to switch classes I was walking down the hallway past the main office and saw Bridget, Heather, and Jody in handcuffs as they were being escorted out of the school by the police. I did not think to stop to see what the commotion was about I was focused on going to statistics which I usually have with Bridget anyways so you know I was prepared for smiles and small talk like my mom said to do in our conversation we had this morning. However before the bell could ring to signal the end of the period we had to get to class there was an announcement over the loudspeaker, "Good morning students and faculty we have had an unfortunate situation occur this morning that I need to inform you about, everyone, please head for the auditorium immediately thank you." Mr. Wyatt, the school principal, had said. Once we were all settled in the auditorium, Mr. Wyatt began to discuss the reason why Bridget, Heather, and Jody had been arrested. They were caught on school grounds vandalizing the building spray painting and smoking joints that they had met someone to get them from in the school parking lot earlier this morning. They wrote things like the school sucked and that everyone could rot in hell, like the teachers, etc. "The girls have been expelled you won't see them around here any, more, we don't tolerate this behavior, they were looking for trouble. Let this be a lesson to all of you as to who your true friends are, you want to be friends with people who inspire you to be nothing but the best you that you can be and who won't drag you down on the wrong path of life. If you would like some counseling to deal with the unfortunate circumstances that occurred today, the guidance counselors and myself have always had an open door policy, you all should know that by now. You all may now go to the last fifteen minutes of your third-period class."

"Ok everyone we only have a few minutes of class because of that last minute assembly please hold on to today's homework assignments I will collect them tomorrow so if you haven't finished you have another night to get it done. All I want you to do to prepare for class for tomorrow is to study the problems on the review sheet I'm passing out right now because there will be a pop quiz in the morning as well. I would have liked to go over the homework for today, but unfortunately, we don't have the time right now, I will be available for tutoring after school today if you need it." As my statistics teacher ended his last comment the bell to go to the third period rang, "I'll see you guys tomorrow." My statistics teacher Mr. Harding had said.
