Chapter 12
At five o'clock the next morning the alarm on my cell phone buzzed waking me up so that I could study for a little while before I had to get ready to go to work. It took me an hour and a half to get my chemistry homework done for Monday. Then at six thirty I showered and got dressed. I came out of the bathroom all dolled up and ready to start another day. I drank a quick cup of coffee and had a slice of toast and a half a cup of cottage cheese and pineapple then at seven thirty I'm leaving the apartment to head to the coffee shop.
On the weekend's mom does not head into the shop until around eleven and does not leave until seven o'clock at night. Which is two hours before I go on Saturday's and an hour before I move on Sunday's, and Aunt Shelia does not work weekends because she has little ones at home and she is also a single mother, her and my uncle are divorced.
"So what do you think are you going to interview those girls from school?" I asked mom a little while later that morning at the shop.
"It's just in all honesty mom I've got a heavy course load this semester so the more people you hire, the more I'll be better able to cut down on hours so I can study."
"Yeah I know it's insane to ask you to work these crazy hours, but until I can get this place fully staffed, I need you to hang in there and be patient with me, just a little while longer." Mom had said.
"But in answer to your question yes I'm going to call the girls this afternoon to line up interviews, I am working on it honey we just opened a week ago give me some time ok." My mom had said.
"Ok I'm sorry I know I need to have some patience we did just get here, I'm just a little overwhelmed with all the hardcore classes I'm taking this semester."
"If you have to honey talk to your guidance counselor maybe you could drop a class or two and take them next semester." "I don't want to have to do that," I said sighing in exasperation. "Again I'm sorry honey just go talk to your guidance counselor on Monday and see what she says, end of discussion until further notice, ok." Mom had said. "Ok," I said.
