POV: First Person
Another day another stack of notes to sort through I think to myself as I sit at my desk in my office. Not much has changed in the week after my assault other than G being slightly nicer to me and Sans now completely avoiding me. Early this morning before I was about to head out to the lab Papyrus was in the kitchen sitting at the little table placed off to the side as if he was waiting for something. "Whatcha doing up so early Pappy?" Nearing the large skeleton he looks to me solemnly almost as if he was about to cry. Panicking I immediately pull him in for a hug and hold him tightly. "(Y/n)? WHY DON'T YOU AND SANS TALK ANYMORE? WHY DON'T WE ALL HANG OUT LIKE WE USED TO? AFTER YOU WENT AWAY THE HOUSE WAS VERY QUIET, AND IT STILL IS." Letting out a heavy sigh I plop myself down into a chair next to him and fiddle with my hands for a moment before reaching his gaze and managing to confess, "Well Pappy all of us are really busy with working, not only that but... I-I gotten into a fight with Sans and G so things are kind of strained right now. Let's just say I made a really big mistake." slowly Papyrus nodded in understanding but quickly recovered with his usual happy and upbeat demeanor and says, "DON'T WORRY (Y/N), FOR I THE GREAT PAPYRUS WILL FIX YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH MY BROTHERS! NYHEH HEH HEH HEH." smiling I lean over and hug the skeleton that although was completely oblivious he's always kind at heart. Smiling to myself at the recent memory I continue sorting through papers, rolling myself to different parts of my office searching hopelessly searching for the blueprints I made only a few months prior to this entire situation. Where could it have gone? I know this is probably a fools search but I just have a feeling it's in here somewhere. Taking a bit of a break I lean onto my desk after pushing my glasses onto my head. Rubbing my temples I try to relax and not get too stressed out searching for something that could quite possibly be lost forever. "Knock knock." Looking up I see Sans leaning in the doorway with his hands in the pockets of his blue hoodie. For some reason the familiar sight makes me a little sad when compared to our new reality. "Is there something you need?" My voice came out rougher than usual but I guess it's from our lack of interactions. "It's your lunch break. I'll buy you lunch if you agree to come talk with me for a bit." Silence falls over us for a second as I consider and then stand up and slide off my lab coat and push my glasses back down onto my face. Usually I go about my day without my glasses but today I feel comfortable wearing them out. Straightening my (f/c) t-shirt and pulling up my dark blue jeans I walk over to Sans and place a hand atop his shoulder awaiting him to take us to wherever he wanted to have lunch. Usually Grillby's was our usual place but I have a feeling we're not headed to the warmth and comfort of the small bar. With a single snap Sans teleports us to Mettaton's resort. Letting out an exaggerated sigh I follow him as he leads me to the main restaurant on the first level. Quickly we're seated and immediately told our meals are on the house courtesy of Mettaton. How does he even know we're here? Looking at the menu I try to avoid eye contact as much as possible, but eventually Sans catches my eye. "Not in a talking mood are ya? I expected as much." chuckling softly to himself he doesn't even look at his menu as he reclines in his seat. Somehow mustering the courage to say something I avert my eyes away from his and say, "It's not that...It's just I'm not exactly sure what you even what to talk about or why after all this time you decide now is a perfect time to talk." setting down my menu I look back at the skeleton and notice his smile isn't and hasn't been very wide as of lately. Before either of us can speak again the waiter returns and takes our orders swiftly and politely. Sans orders a bottle of ketchup while I ask for a burger and fries knowing Sans will probably eat some of my food. Quickly the waiter walks away leaving Sans and I alone once again. "Considering what I've put you through during this timeline I expect you to hate me which you probably do, but there are some things we need to discuss." softly I nod in response while remembering the horrors I've seen from him. Regaining my composure I look Sans in the eyes and say, "I'm listening."
