Kind of a filler.. sorry ..
Once we arrive back at the hotel, we put our dirty clothes in the hamper and call Jack to find out where they are. They’re all in at the studio working on instrumentals for our songs or even just to get something new together for the fun of it. We drive down to meet them, anxious to tell them our news. I feel my heart pound with every step I take. Riley squeezes my hand tightly, telling me that they’re going to be okay with it. It’s not that I doubt her. I trust that they will be okay with it, when I say ‘they’, I don’t mean Rian, though.
I know we talked to try and work things out, but he’s the most protective guy I know over anything he cares about. After what I did to not only the guys but to Riley, I give him every right to be uneasy with me. Hell, I’d be uneasy with him if he’d of done it. I just would like to not be punched in the face again.
I want things back to normal. We all used to be so close, but it went downhill really fast after we got signed. A lot has happened not only with me personally, but the band as a whole. We’ve all been so stressed with making this album the best it can be, and quickly at that. We’re all so excited about this and can’t wait for the world to really see us. We’re probably going to get a tour manager after our first album comes out that way we can go prove ourselves to the world.
I snap out of my thought when Riley looks at me and sighs with a smile on her beautiful face. “Are you ready for this?” We stand right outside the door to the studio, where we had recorded all of our songs, where we practice, and where we us, really. I take a quick glance through the window of the door at them. They’re all smiling and sitting with their instruments while Cass sits in a padded chair smiling and laughing with them, a soda in hand.
“Yes,” I smile and kiss her soft lips quickly. I open the door and Riley and I walk to the other seats across from the instruments. They all stop whatever conversation they were having and their eyes all trace down to our hands held together. “Hey, guys,” I say, breaking the silence. I feel Rian’s eyes boring into me.
“What’s up?” Cass’s eyebrows wiggle the way Jack’s normally do. I watch her eyes flicker to our hands and back up at our smiling red faces.
“Well, we’re a thing now,” I say shyly but with confidence.
“I knew this would happen! It was the dress, Ri!” Cass laughs cheerily.
Riley smiles at her, blushing along with it. Jack reacts well. He smiles and says congrats while Zack gives us a silent smile. Rian’s eyes stare at our hands still, unsure of what to say or how to feel.
Riley smiles comfortingly at him as Cass plants a warm kiss on his cheek. “Isn’t this great?” Riley asks him directly. He blinks once and clears his throat.
“Uh, yeah, sure thing, Ri.” He scratches the back of his neck with tight hands.
“So what’s everyone doing here?” I ask to change the subject and hopefully pull the tension from the air. It’s so thick you could slice through it with a knife.
“Just hanging out and playing tunes. Nothing much really,” Jack answers and I assume he feels the same tension I do. Jack and I are best friends, so it’s always been easier for him and I to forgive, and easy to fight. I love him for that. He’s one of the best friends I have ever had in my life, and I hope it stays that way. He’s been trying to help me through this Rian thing, but he’s against me on the Lisa thing, which doesn’t surprise me. I would be too.
