As Alex and I finished singing our duet to the crowd, he slung his arm around me and kissed my cheek happily. I smiled and blushed against his face and the crowd cheered and cameras flashed around us.
"Jack?" Alex says and looked back at him. He nods and leaves the stage.
"Where is Jack going?" I ask.
"Not sure." Alex smiles at the crowd now, taking his attention away from me. As i go to turn and leave, Rian points me back to my spot with his drum stick, a serious face flashing my way. I throw my hands up in defeat and turn on my heels back to my spot. Alex laughs as the crowd shouts out to him. "You all enjoyed the show tonight?" He shouts, thrusting his hand in the air.
They respond back in loud cheers and screams. He smiles wide. "That's great to hear. I wanna talk about something with you all though." His tone dies down from joyous and playful to a bit serious. The large mass of people hush and the room quiets quickly. I'd never seen such a large body of people become so silent for one man. I suppose if he can make one person as loud as many, he can make many as silent as one.
"None of this would have been possible if it weren't for Riley." He smiles to me.
"Stop it," I chuckle.
"No, hear me out. She's the one who came to every practice, despite our teenage fights. She supported us before we even supported ourselves. She taught me who I am, who I want to be, and who i should be and why. Now, the publicity on our break and the police thing went down and out real fast." His voice drops. "Once things started to flow again, she encouraged us to become a band again. We'd broken up to keep safe for a while. And I thank all of you for supporting every move we've made. We wouldn't be here without you either, guys."
The crowd roars in response but dies back down when he raises a hand. Jack hands Alex a water and he sips it, sets it down, and then clutches his hand.
"This is who I want to be. This is who I am. And, Riley, you are why." He turns to me suddenly, a smirk on his face. Sweat rolls down his cheeks and forehead. I smile as he reaches for my hand. "I know you hate being put on the spot like this, but." He kneels down and my heart races. His brown eyes look up at me and I feel like I am thousands of feet above the ground. I feel my knees get weak and for a moment everything is slow and quiet. I watch his hands fumble to get the shining silver ring from his clutched fist. He looks back up at me, embarrassed for his fumbling. "Sorry," He mutters and attempts to laugh it off. He clears his throat. "But will you marry me?"
The words rolls off his tongue like any other thing would. He is always so melodic and well kept when saying anything. He makes anything into such a song. His lips curl and I replay the pattern of them over and over in my head so I never forget the small details. I take note of his messy brown hair although it is perfectly messy. His freshly shaven face is red from both heat and nervousness.
I open my mouth to respond now but the words hitch themselves in the back of my mouth, forcing tears out instead and I quickly cover my open mouth, ashamed and embarrassed that I haven't been able to speak. He raises his eyebrows at me. I nod hastily and his hand trails up my thigh to my hand and slides the ring onto my finger. It dangles a bit but I couldn't care less. He smiles wide and jumps to his feet and picks me up in his arms. His lips crash onto mine and i wrap my arms around his neck for support. My legs are far too weak to stand on their own.
I pull away, smiling and laughing all together. "Yes," I finally push out. He laughs and kisses me again. Lights flash behind my eyelids and voices roar but yet no one else seems to exist but Alex and I. Me and Alex. Riley Gaskarth. Holy shit. I sigh heavily and squeeze him tighter.
"That's all folks!" Jack shouts and nudges us back.
Alex grabs my hand and we are the first to the bus. "Alex, why are you rushing?" I laugh.
"Trust me," He growls and locks the door behind us. Just as quickly as he'd locked the door, he slams me against the wall and our lips collide once more. Immediately he bites my lip and pulls my hair, making me gasp. He takes the opportunity to slide his tongue into my mouth. As we hastily kiss, his hands roam my body until they find the hem of my dress, He yanks it over my head as I fumble with his clothes.
Once we're both undressed, he lifts me up and carries me back to the larger bed. Butterflies fly free in my stomach as I know what's happening. He hovers over top of me and allows his finger to trace me. "Alex," I whine. He smirks and kisses my chest slowly, making his way down my torso. His lips find me and I'm set wild.
Soon, he comes back up and looks at me questioningly. "You ready?" He asks.
"Quick asking." I groan. In response his weight is thrown at me. "Alex," I let his name slip my mouth. My nails rake against his back all over and he growls in response. "Oh my God, I love you," I gasp.
The End :D I toned that down a lot and cut it out because that's not what this story was really about, but it doesn't hurt to have a little. Thank you all for reading this! It really means so so much to me.
