TWENTY- NINE| RAVEN

THE SMELL OF EGG & SAUSAGE flares into her nostrils as she steps out of her room into the hallway leading into the kitchen. She slings her bag onto her shoulder as she buckles her Jeans. 

  "Good Morning," The woman greeted her excitedly causing Raven to stop abruptly in her trance. "Morning," Raven replied as she sets her bag on the bar stool along with her brother's Jacket as she reaches for Mario's Coffee along with his half eaten granola bar that was in his hand. 

"I made you breakfast," she said.

     "Thanks but I rather stealing Mario's breakfast it much better." She bites into the granola bar. The woman looked at Mario and back at me before she turns to the pot behind her. "Mom, We will eat your delicious food," Mario breathes out.

"No I won't," Raven blurted out. 

     "Please, Mom tends to get upset when people defy her cooking," Mario whispered.

"I am sure it's delicious but I'm not in the mood for food." She said as the doorbell rang.

"Raven it's Daria lets go," She blurted out a little angry.

"My ride is here," She got up.

"Can you come home straight after school I'll like to talk to you about something," he said. Raven nodded, picking up her Jacket and bag as she heads for the door. She bid them both byes and slam the door on the way out.

                   Raven could feel the tension between Daria and Lennox as she sat in the back seat of Daria silver's Honda as they drove to school. Not one word has been mention since she got in and greeted them both, It was obvious that they had something deep stirring between that cause Lennox to diss his bike this morning. Raven couldn't tell if she was the reason they weren't at each other's throat or because Lennox wanted to watch over us both Since Sebastian couldn't drive us and his mother demand that he stay home.

    It was kinda odd not having Daria blabbing away in her eyes. A stench of anger was swimming away in her eyes as she kept her gaze on the road, While Lennox playing with a caterpillar pendant that he had around his neck as he bites his bottom lip in anger every few minutes. 

   Whatever was brewing between was set on a timer waiting to explode and she didn't think she would have the courage to calm them down other than themselves.  Just as Daria turn into the schoolyard she could feel the worse tension as she realized that the Siren was on the right while the Dragons were on the left.  Daria stops the car abruptly in the driveway, causing her to skid forward using her hand to stop her from going through the windscreen.

          " Are you fucking kidding?!" Daria curse. 

"I told you this is my turf, don't think your Ex is welcome." He snaps at her. 

     "That was fucking History ago, Leave the past in the past!" She snaps back at him. A couple cars started blowing their horns loudly causing Daria to pulled the car out of neutral and park the car right next to a group dress in Siren black and sky blue leather Jacket. Her cell phone blasted through the awkwardness. She reaches for it and notices it was Sebastian calling.

               "Good Morning Beautiful," his soothing voice boom through the phone.

"How much dose of medicine have you taken?" Raven asked.

"Does it matter, I miss you and wanted to hear your feisty voice telling me to go to hell," he chuckled into the phone.

"Well, Go to hell," Raven said with a smile on her face.

        Sebastian chuckled out loud.

"Can you come over later?  Lionel said he has no problem giving you a ride," he stated in questioning tone. 

"I'm not sure, I'm still trying to figure out who crash into us yesterday morning." Raven hesitated. "Please Raven, I'm gonna be bored and I need some spice to stay sane in this boring house." He cooed. 

    "I'll be busy," SHe said.

"Come Nancy took time to date, Ned." He rephrase Lennox's line to her.

"Really?," She stated.

"I'll see how the day turns out," she said as Daria push the door open.

          "I was really dying to come to school this morning to see the tension of the Sirens and Dragons. It was always pleasurable to watch, watching the two kings fight over a rebel. But everyone knows D will always choose Lennox because nobody gets her like he does.  And if it wasn't for their fathers' stupidity they will still be the it couple of Eddington High. 

    "Maybe I'll come over, Just to hear the tale of Romeo and Juliet. " Raven stated.

"More Like Chuck and Blair of Gossip Girl. Because I believe they have a happy ending." Sebastian chuckled. "Why aren't I surprise?" Raven said as Lennox and climb out of the car the same time. 

"I got to go," She told him.

"Alright See you later," She heard him say before hanging up the phone without a goodbye or reply. She turns to see Ryan with a stack of Paper who walked up to Daria and Lennox who was each other throat. "I think you two need a break," She cut between them both.

"She's right, I don't want another fight starting like the one last year," Ryan mumbled as Raven push Daria ahead of her and giving Lennox a glare that states stay there. "Who the hell does he think he is? My father?" She snaps under her breath but loud enough for her to hear. 

          "So no one heard from Aaliyah yet?" Ryan asked.

"I don't think so, My Dad said he haven't gotten any calls yet. It's a small town where could she have been gone?" Daria breathes out frustrated as they reach her locker where she saw a note taped to her locker. She pulled it off and flips it open and it reads;

           "Your head may be filled with fire... But your blood will run cold like his."

Raven glance down the hallway where she saw the basketball team members all chattering and laughing like everything was okay. "Is everything ok?" Ryan asked.

"Just some asshole trying to piss m off," She stuffs the note between one of her books into her bag as Mr.Nonage walks up towards them causing Ryan to step closer to her. "Hello Raven, I'm glad you are okay. I texted you yesterday but you didn't reply," he said in a weird tone.

"Sorry I got caught up," She told him.

      "Okay, I'll see you in my office at free period?" he said in a questioning.

"Sure," And for some odd reason for the first time, Raven felt paranoid about being alone with him. Did she wonder why? It wasn't until he was out of earshot Ryan voice his opinion.

   "I always hated him, something fishy about him," Ryan said.

"That's because everyone knew he had a thing for Ryn and you dislike everyone who does," Daria said. "It's not just that he was like obsessed with her in a way-" Ryam mumbled. 

"Forget it,"  Ryan mumbled as he hands us both a couple of paper with Aaliyah on it. But Expression on his face held something more. She could sense and it had her mind blazing in the various scenario but first, she needs to find the two guys she saw with Aalyiah that night.
