|FOUR|- Raven
JUST as the sun set on the horizon, she pulled the car into the parking lot. She climb out reaching into her pocket to receive her cellphone, she check the time and fling it onto the driver seat. Taking the keys from the ignition, her notebooks, she slam the door shut and went towards the cliff. It had become a normal routine for her since Max died. It was probably the last place he saw before he died, since it was his favorite place to think.
So somehow it becomes her place to think too. It's probably insane but she felt safe.
She slowly walked towards the edge, starring down at the rocky bottom. Just six months ago her brother body was laying their face down with his bones broken in various places. She step back and collapsed on the grass, placing her text book in front of her. She stare ahead in wonderment as the chill air wrap it self around her.
She took a deep a breath and started on her calculus assignment that was due first thing tomorrow.
Just as she started on the fifth equation, a black Honda pulled up next to hers. She watch as a man dress in semi-tight blue Jeans and white T-shirt, step out removing the glasses from his medium size eyes. He was robust, looking like a certified Solider that just step out of the army fresh off the boat. He fling his glasses into the car, shut the door before leaning on the front of his car with his hand folded with his leg cross at the ankle.
Raven got up, collecting her text books before heading towards her brother classic wagon side Van.
"The sunset is beautiful this evening," she heard him from across the distant where he stood.
She ignored his attempt to start a conversation with her and place her books neatly on the cushion back seat that had her pillow in the center. After shutting the door, he got up and she reach for the knife that stick in the waist of her pant at her back. It was her brother's and he had hand it to her the night before he disappears, since he had to run an errand. She didn't expect it to become handy when she had to use it to defend herself the following night when their landlord thought it was a perfect opportunity to get some pussy from her.
Thanks to her brother defending lessons and knife fighting she handle it exactly as he taught her leaving her land lord with mark in the middle of his hand. She remembered how she had tried to resist from not learning to do those karate lesson but she was glad it paid off. " I am not here to hurt you Raven," he raised his hand causing apart of his badge to be reveal. He was a cop, She cringe at the word cop and step back.
"I'm Special Agent Mario Ferguson of the FBI." he introduced himself, reaching for his badge to make it fully visible to her. He flip the badge to show his identification card that was laminated on the inside. "Anyone can make a badge these days." she stated, tighten her grip on the knife.
"That would be some serious penalty for forging an FBI accessory." he stated as he replace the badge on his waist.
"Did that bastard Lionel Montez finally decide to charge me for smashing his stupid convertible?" She asked still holding onto the knife.
"I got to say, your the rebel I always wanted to be." he said with a grin.
"What's on FBI doing in such a small town? I didn't think you guys know we exist." she stated.
"The FBI received an anonymous letter six months ago after we analyse it we realized it came from your brother." he notify her.
"Max couldn't write shit, how did he manage to write you guys?" Raven wondered.
