Jughead was in tears. He wasn't sure what to do. He kept staring back at his phone in disbelief, covering his hand over his mouth and crying.

Archie Andrews followed him on Twitter.

The Archie Andrews, the best male artist of his generation and the hottest person he has ever laid eyes on (through a computer screen) followed Jughead Jones.

Jughead had been a fan for years. He had been in love with him in his YouTube days when he used to post small covers and nobody knew his name. Now, no one could turn on the radio without hearing an Archie Andrews song. Nobody could go on Tumblr without seeing his name trending. Nobody could walk outside without seeing his name floating around on t-shirts or book bags. Jughead had grown up watching this boy, his first ever celebrity crush, and now at 5.7 million followers, Archie Andrews finally decided to follow him back.

After getting over his initial shock he rushed to face time Betty, practically jumping up and down as the phone rang. She picked up with an easy smile and glanced over Jughead curiously. "What's going on? Are you crying?" She asked.

"Archie Andrews followed me!" He screamed happily.

"You lucky bastard!" Betty gasped.

"I've waited so long for this moment and now I'm not even sure what to do with myself," Jughead sighed happily, watching as notifs from his Mutuals began pouring through his phone about the Twitter follow. Jughead was a respected member of the fandom, which was ridiculously called The Drews. He had a fan page that most of the fandom followed and he was a familiar face. If anyone deserved a follow, it was him.

"Maybe your dream of dating the pop star will come true now. He's only a year older," she pointed out.

"It's just a follow Bet—" he was cut off with his own gasp as he got another notification.

It was a DM from Archie Andrews.

Jughead started to cough and hack, a failed attempt at trying to get oxygen in his lungs again.

"Sweetie, you can't keep forgetting to breathe," Betty chuckled.

"He just sent me a DM," he breathed out hoarsely.

Betty's eyes widened excitedly as she began to clap her hands. "Open it!"

"Okay! I'll call you back!" He rushed just before hanging up. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. It was probably nothing. Maybe Archie was following a bunch of his fans back and just being nice. It's not a big deal. It's just a DM.

With that in mind, he opened up Twitter and shakily clicked on the message.

@/ArchieAndrews: Hey :) I just wanted to thank you for supporting me. I know you've been a fan of me for a really long time, like back when I was making shitty covers on YouTube. I don't think I've ever gotten the chance to meet you yet. Anyways, the follow back was long overdue. Thanks again x

Jughead read the message over and over again, word for word. He couldn't believe this was actually happening. He didn't think Archie paid attention to that. He didn't think he knew who he was. Sure, the redhead occasionally liked some of his tweets, but that was the extent to which Jughead thought he went noticed.
