Misanthrope— someone who dislikes people in general

"Can you stop bitching for one second?" Jughead growled at a random person on line in front of him. "The cashier is just trying to do her job which, FYI, shouldn't involve getting spoken down to by entitled assholes!"

The man in front of him immediately shut up.

The people in line behind him began to clap and that seemed to make Jughead even more ticked off. "What is this? Tumblr?" He asked as he rolled his eyes.

He couldn't stand people. Why did people feel the need to be rude over chicken nuggets and why did people feel the need to congratulate others for being decent human beings? It wasn't that hard. His boyfriend was so lucky that he even agreed to go out today.

After everyone calmed down, Jughead mumbled through his boyfriend's order to the McDonald's cashier and stepped to the side. He always looked mad at the world. His face was always stone cold. He was the opposite of approachable and even a little bit scary.

He took pride in that.

"Sorry that took so long. I went to the bathroom and then I realized I forgot my phone in the car," Archie began to explain hurriedly as he ran up to his boyfriend in the crowded food chain. "And then my favorite song came on in the car so I had to listen to the whole thing of course."

"Babe, every song is your favorite song," Jughead said, chuckling slightly and looking at the shorter boy fondly.

"I know! But I swear this time it was actually my favorite song!" Archie responded, smiling widely. "It's that one with the chorus. You know it?"

The raven haired beauty couldn't help but laugh. Not just anybody could make him laugh, it was no small feat.

"No, I'm not particularly familiar with about every song in the universe," he teased.

"It's like la la la oh," Archie mimicked, moving his hands around as if that was going to help him explain the well known song with the chorus that's like "la la la oh."

Jughead shook his head in amusement and grabbed his boyfriend's hands, partly to get him to stop and partly because he just liked the feeling of their hands together. "You'll have to play it for me."

Archie was an exception from everyone else. He was the only person he liked besides his dad. He was adorable, benevolent, and sweet. Archie was everything good in the world and more. He was Jughead's little bottle of sunshine and he liked to keep him close. They were complete opposites but somehow it worked.

"Maybe," Archie replied as he began to swing their hands back and forth. "Were you able to order without giving anybody an attitude?"

Jughead cringed. "People are so annoying I can't help it."

"You can't just go off on everybody who annoys you."

"I can, I have, and I will," Jughead snorted.

"But," Archie said hopefully, squeezing his hands together. "You'll behave today right?"

Jughead sighed. Veronica was having a party at her family's lake house and Archie practically begged the intimidating goddess to let him bring his boyfriend. Although Jughead actually had respect for her, which was also pretty rare, he was dreading the trip. Betty was annoying and she had an obvious crush on Archie that didn't sit right with him.
