Knave— a deceitful and unreliable scoundrel

"When I told you I loved you, baby I was lying."
Jughead loved to say that. He loved watching faces crumble and hearts break. He loved the way tears looked strolling down cheeks and the innocent way in which lips quivered.
Girls were so much prettier when their spirits were crushed.
The raven haired teen didn't think much of what he was doing. He chalked it up to being a player. He liked to play games, tossing and dribbling hearts in his hand as if he were on a basketball court.
But guys were all supposed to be assholes anyways, right? At least, that's what the internet told him.
One day, however, he played with the wrong person's heart. Blonde girl. Tight pony tail. Innocent eyes. Pretty smile. Jughead had fun with that one. It was his greatest game he ever played. One Month. He got her to fall hopelessly in love with him in one month. He took her to the park just to watch the stars, sang Disney songs with her in the car, bought her flowers and called her every single night. He knew how to woo girls. They always fell for the same tricks. He ended up getting her into bed and then broke the news to her the next day.
She was an ugly crier.
Jughead was pretty proud of himself, but he didn't know that karma was finally going to catch up to him.
The blonde had a best friend. Archie Andrews. Archie Andrews didn't like when people messed with his friends.
Archie took it upon himself to make sure Jughead wouldn't hurt anybody else the way Jughead hurt his friend. They spent all night coming up with a plan, deciding that the best way to get revenge was using his own game against him.
The raven haired heartbreaker didn't think much of it when Archie walked into his life. He didn't pay much attention to him at first. Sure his smile was beautiful and the way he laughed was cute, but that was all Archie was.
Then they started hanging out. Archie would go to Target to run errands and Jughead would tag along with his fake "I don't care about anything" and "I'm always an asshole" attitude. They'd run around like idiots, taking pictures of themselves on the iPhones for sale and setting it as the lock screens, or going into the toy department and pressing buttons on all the creepy electronic learning toys. They'd go into the outdoor apartment and sit on the patio furniture, acting as if it were summer and all was right in the world. They'd bother the baristas at Starbucks, ordering ridiculously fake drinks just to see the annoyed expressions of the workers.
With Archie, Jughead could just have fun. He never really had someone to have fun with before. He didn't have friends, and sure the dates he went on with girls were sort of fun, but he could never be his true self.
The more he hang out with Archie, the more he began to loosen up. The redhead was the only person who knew Jughead, the real one. With Archie, Jughead could just sit in his room and talk about anything and nothing all at the same time. He could be vulnerable and childish, cute and sweet. Jughead began to gain feelings for Archie.
At first it was a weird revelation, but it all started to make sense. He could never fall in love with a girl because he liked boys. Sex never felt as good as it was supposed to because he liked boys.
For the first time, Jughead was happy.
The more they hang out, the more Jughead fell for him. Every time he saw Archie coming down the hallway his heart beat faster and his hands got sweaty. He'd never taken a liking to someone before.
