"Stop being so grumpy," Jughead sighed as he handed the redhead the left earbud.
Archie took the earbud gratefully and got comfortable in the soft bus seat. "I can't help it. She's such a bitch," he mumbled as Tyler Joseph's pretty voice began to fill his ear.
"Oh but when I say it, it's a problem," Jughead chuckled, his eyes glowing in amusement as he looked over his best friend.
"Well," Archie paused, looking up at the ceiling of the coach bus. "That's because she's my bitch."
Jughead didn't need a reminder.
"Correction. She just broke up with me so I guess that's false," Archie grumbled, pouting as Jughead tried to contain his smile.
"I can't believe she broke up with you on today of all days," Jughead said honestly. It was pretty messed up. Today was their senior trip, the only trip that mattered at their school. Every year the seniors took a 4 day trip up to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. Although there were plenty of trees and mountains up there that Jughead didn't care much about, there was also an indoor water park where they would be staying.
"I know," Archie groaned, letting his brown eyes wander towards Jughead for the first time since they started talking. "It was going to be our first trip as a couple. I was going to do romantic shit and everything."
"At least you have me," Jughead said hopefully, nudging him with his arm.
"That's true," Archie agreed, smiling a bit at the raven haired boy. He was grateful that his best friend had decided to come on the trip, which did take a lot of convincing, but it wasn't as exciting as a romantic getaway with little to no adult supervision. "We haven't hung out in a while."
That was a bit of an understatement. Archie was always with Veronica and Jughead was always by himself. The only other person that talked to him besides Archie was Betty, and that was only because Archie had taken Veronica away from her just as Veronica had taken Archie away from him. In fact, Jughead was supposed to be sitting with the blonde on the way up.
"Yeah. This'll be fun I promise," the raven haired beauty said excitedly as he sat back in his seat and bopped his head to the song playing in his ears.
It didn't take long for the bus to start moving. Student quickly started up conversations, talking about the water park and all their after hour plans. Betty took one look at Jughead and Archie together and practically ran towards her vixen friend a few rows down. Archie and Jughead didn't even bother striking up conversation. The two of them never needed it. They simply sat in a comfortable silence, letting their favorite band distract them as they occasionally passed a phone back and forth to play their favorite time waster, hangman.
After an hour or so, Archie settled into a light sleep. His head was slumped onto Jughead's shoulder, his head hair becoming a ruffled mess of flames. His eyes fluttered slightly and his cheeks bloomed a rosy pink as his breathing evened out into the catchy little tune that Jughead loved.
The raven haired boy became slightly giddy at the contact. His heart sped up whenever the boy touched him, especially when he was given the honor to be his designated human pillow. Archie was just the cutest, most adorable person Jughead had ever laid eyes on.
