I sat in a room with no windows. It was decorated with a chair and desk and a bed. The only light came from a little light on the wall. My handcuffs had been removed. I sat in the desk and thought about the situation I was in. If I hadn't met with my boss I wouldn't be here, would I? If I had followed the rules I had created to protect myself I would still be at home. I hadn't made many rules and they were simple.

1. STAY AWAY from people as much as possible.
2. DON'T have friends or trust anyone.
3. Don't attract any attention.
4. Don't leave grocery bags on the floor of the kitchen.

My life had been quite peaceful for a long time and I didn't want this type of trouble to become a habit. I just needed to get out of here and then I'd be safe, right? They wouldn't be able to find me, would they? I shook my head, of course not.

I tried to create a plan for escape. First, I needed to get out of this room. The only exit was the door I had entered and I guessed there would be a few guards on the other side. The door was locked, the only keys to open it would be outside of this room, therefore I would not be able to open this door with a key. But I could use something else. I searched through the drawers of the desk but found nothing. I did carry a knife with me and the guards had not taken it, in fact I could of had a dozen weapons on me and the guards wouldn't of taken them. I took my knife out of the secret pocket in my jacket. Then, I walked over to the door and put the tip of the knife in the lock. After a couple seconds there was a click and I opened the door.

On the other side there were 2 guards. They both turned to me with startled expressions and I quickly knocked them both out. This was way too easy, was no one here experienced in this type of stuff?

I quickly went through in my head the turns in the hallways I had taken to get to the room I had just exited. Then, I listened to hear if there were more guards ahead. Silence. I headed down the hallways almost at a run and I took many turns. After a few turns I stopped. I was unsure if I was going the right way, then I heard shouting from the way I'd come and I started running. According to my memory I had one more turn then there would be a door on the right with an exit sign. I turned the corner and almost ran into a guard.

When he saw me he cried out in surprise. The man had had a knife in his hand and in his shock he slashed out at me. I saw the knife coming but it all happened too fast. The knife cut into my stomach and I cried out in pain and stumbled to the ground. I quickly focused on what I needed to do and tried to push the pain aside. I was too close to escaping. I got onto my knees then got up, one hand clutching my stomach. With my other hand I knocked the man out. The guard wasn't actually a good fighter at all, he was just caught by surprise, and on instinct he had attacked me. I stumbled over to the door and opened it. I could hear yelling in the distance but my vision was going blurry. I walked out into a back alley. I could hear the sounds of a busy road not far away.

The sun was high in the sky as I stumbled to get as far away from the building I had just left as possible. I was slow and I kept looking behind me to make sure I wasn't leaving a trail of blood. I kept to the less busy roads, once in a while I could hear guards in the distance, searching for me and I would try to walk faster. After a few hours I reached the edge of a forest. I was now on the outskirts of the town.

All there was were trees around me as I walked into the forest. I guessed it was around 3 o'clock and I was really hungry now. Occasionally I would see a path to my left but then it would disappear behind the trees. The sky above was bright blue with only a few clouds. I could hear birds chirping in the distance but other then that the forest was quiet. I stumbled through the trees trying not to trip on roots and rocks that came across my path. My vision was blurred and it felt like each step I took was more difficult then the last. And then I fell.

One of my hands were still holding my stomach so when I hit the ground even more pain erupted through me because I couldn't properly catch myself. I cried out in pain but didn't move, I wasn't even sure I had the strength to get up. Then, I heard talking in the distance. It was too far away to understand what the people were saying but the voices were getting louder. I tried to get up but stumbled and fell again. I needed to hide, I was too much in the open, someone could find me, whoever these people were I didn't want to know. I was starting to panic now. I wasn't able to move, how would I find a place to hide, I couldn't even take one step.

I tried to slow my breathing and I used both my hands to lift myself to my knees. Then I got to my feet and took one step then another and another and just when I thought I was actually going to get somewhere I fell and hit my head on a rock. Everything went dark.

I was 9 years old, standing in a hallway at my school. Kids were staring at me with looks of disgust. I turned and ran away from them, I didn't know where I was going but anywhere was better then this school. I was almost at the exit when I was pushed from the side and I hit the ground. I looked up to see a blonde haired boy. The boy who had been making my life more miserable then it already was. Silas.
