I woke early the next morning and followed a guard out of the building and to the vehicle. After driving for the entire day we stayed at a hotel and then woke early the next morning and started driving again. I was starting to feel a little dizzy but whether it was from lack of sleep or from lack of food I didn't know. It didn't matter, I had to do this, I had to talk to Barton. When we reached our destination I put on the microphone and sunglasses and got out of the vehicle. As I stepped onto the pavement a stumbled but quickly caught myself. I looked at the guard beside me. Our eyes met and he seemed to understand: please don't tell Renée, I'm fine.

I walked to the entrance and looked back to see the vehicle drive off, they would be back to pick me up. I had about an hour to get the information from Mr. Barton. I entered the building and headed to the elevator. Time seemed to slow. After a few minutes I arrived in front of Barton's door. I paused for a second and then opened the door. I saw him with his back to me staring out the window. He seemed deep in thought and hadn't heard me enter.

"Mr Barton." I said.

He turned around, surprised. When he saw it was me he rushed over.

"Oh my gosh, you're finally back! Where have you been all this time? I was starting to get worried—" And then he noticed the expression on my face and his smile faded.

I knew I couldn't tell him what I needed to. The microphone and sunglasses would record everything I said. But I desperately wanted him to know what was going on. There was no way I could get him to understand what was going on without saying anything. I took a deep breath. I had to do as I was told. Come on Josiah, you can do this.

"I need to know more about Lentlithen Ortide children."

No, please don't tell me. Tell me you haven't learned anything new, please.

"I haven't done much research lately, is something wrong? Are you in pain or are the powers giving you bad side effects?" He asked worriedly.

"No, I'm fine I was just wondering if you learned anything else."

"Well, I learned that there is a certain type of food that is extremely painful to you but makes you stronger and have different abilities but that wouldn't be helpful because it would cause you lots of pain."

As soon as he said it my eyes widened in shock. This was what they were looking for, wasn't it? And now they knew. No, this isn't good, this really isn't good. Crap! Dammit! Why did he have to tell me?!

If I didn't ask what the food was I would get in lots of trouble, but when they figure out the food they are going to force me to eat it and see if it's true. Both choices were terrible.

"What's the food?" I asked.

"Kiwis."

"The small fuzzy fruit?"

"Yes, have you had it before?"

"No."

"I have to go now, I have a busy schedule but if you find any information, call me." I said.

I leave the room and head back to the elevator. When I finally reach the vehicle I look back at the building just once before getting in and we drive away. That night I only got about 3 hours of sleep. I was having trouble sleeping, my mind kept thinking about Mr. Barton's expression on his face when he saw me. The fact that he and Elana had seen my eyes and didn't think I was a monster was still strange to me, even after all this time.

Hello, how's life? I've been in the drama club at my school and I just started my careers class on Friday. I know, really late, but the class was full so I had been taking civics and careers online. But, turns out the class at school is doing careers and then civics and the online class I was taking is doing civics and then careers so the opposite. So, now I have to catch up on everything I missed while I wasn't in the actual class. But anyway this is better then the online class so I shouldn't be complaining. Hope you guys had a great day!
