A Little Different ~ Bughead

Chapter 15

Jughead POV~Fast forward a month.

Betty's been gone a month and she's still not coming back for a week and I feel like I'm going to cry. About a week after Betty left Archie begged me to start playing football with him on the school team I agree considering everyone knows about my leg already so I have nothing to hide I just have to use my running blade and it turns out I'm pretty fucking good at football. Me and Betty text every day and call every night for hours. I can't wait to see her and hug her and kiss her and uuhhh. Next week can't get here fast enough.

It's Friday and exactly one week till Betty comes back and I have a football game so I grabbed my car keys and walked downstairs because I keep everything in my locker because I take it and put it in my gym locker on Monday then take it home on Friday. I walked downstairs and my mom dad and JB were sat on the couch and my dad was holding Julian.

"Hey guys I'm leaving for the game now."

"Ok Jug. We're going to leave in a couple minutes." My mom said I nodded and walked out the door. I got in my jeep and drove to the school. I got to school and got out my jeep and walked into school. I went into the locker room and Archie was already here with a few other people from the team. I walked over to my locker and started to get my gear and stuff out then Archie walked over and started to get his stuff out of his locker that is next to mine.

"So Jug is Betty back this week?"

"No next week."

"So she's not coming to the game?" Now Archie may be one of my best friends but his not incredibly smart.

"No Arch she's still in LA so she can't come to the game. Maybe next week." I said chuckling he just smiled at me and we got ready.

Once we were ready we put all our other stuff back in our lockers and I also put my other leg in because I changed to my blade. We sat in the benches and I quietly checked my phone and saw a message from my mom and one from Betty. I opened the one from my mom first.

Mom: Julian's babysitter cancelled so we've brought him along to watch you play.

So that means Julian's first football game will be watching me he is a cute baby though I'll give him that. Then I checked the message Betty sent me.

Betts🌸: Hi Juggie good luck with your game tonight. I know you'll win. Love you. Xxx

Jug🍔: Thanks Betts love you too. Wish you were here but it's just one more week. Xx

I then put my phone in my locker and then put my gloves on and grabbed my helmet and walked over to the tunnel and stood next to Archie and put my helmet on.

"You ready?"

"Yep. Let's do this." I said then the whistle blew and we all ran out onto the field. We stood in position I looked up at the stands and looked threw the people and saw my parents with JB and my mom holding Julian I looked forward and the whistle blew and the game began.

The whistle was about to blow for the end of the game and we were drawing. I was running up the field to get in position to catch the ball and then Archie shouted "Jug!" I turned and he threw the ball to me and I jumped and caught it as soon as I caught it I sprinted up the field and barged a few guy out the way and dogged a few then I reached the line I threw the ball down and got a touchdown. The whistle blew and everyone cheered and Archie ran over to me and we both jumped and hit our shoulders together.

"That was amazing dude."

"Thanks Arch couldn't have done it without that throw." I said and I high fives him and we both laughed.

"Oh and Jug I was told to tell you someone's over there for you." He said pointing to the middle of the side line. I looked over and could just about make out who it was and what they were wearing it was Betty and she was stood there in blue jeans and my denim jacket and she had her hands in the pockets of the jacket. As soon as I saw her I started running towards her as I got close she took her hands out of her pockets and as soon as I got to her I picked her up and spun her round and she giggled I put her down but kept my arms in her waist.

"Betty what you doing here." I said not being able to stop smiling.

"I came home." She said giggling god I've missed that dam giggle.

"I thought you were coming back next week?"

"Nope I missed you to much I came back early this morning."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I wanted to but I wanted to surprise you more plus I went straight to sleep once I got back." She said smiling I smiled back at her and she reached up and unclipped the sides of the strap and pulled my helmet off and she threw it on the floor and put her hands in my cheeks and brought my face to hers and I kissed her passionately.

When we pulled away we rested out forheads together and I was breathing heavily.

"Congratulations on the game bye the way."

"Thanks. Did you watch the hole thing?"

"Yeah. Veronica came by and picked me up with Kevin. Like 5 minutes after you left. Veronica told Archie at halftime so he couldn't ruin the surprise." She said smiling.

"Well this is the best surprise ever." I said kissing her again. Then my Mom, Dad and JB walked over to us with Julian.

"That was amazing Jughead." My dad said smiling

"Yeah well done Jug I think Julian enjoyed it." My mom said chuckling.

"Thanks guys. Oh Betty this is Julian." I said smiling and looking down at her I saw her look at Julian and her face lit up.

"He's so cute." She cooed

"See I knew he'd steal you away from me with his cuteness." I said fake frowning

"Oh shut it you." She said playfully shoving my arm.

"I'm going to get changed and stuff then me, Archie, Kevin and Ronnie are going to Pop's are you coming with us Betts?"

"Yeah Ronnie and Kev invited me."

"Ok. I'll see you in a sec Betts. By Mom, dad thanks for coming you to JB." I said I gave them a hug and then picked up my helmet and went to get changed.
