A Little Different ~ Bughead

Chapter 34

Betty POV

On Friday me and Jughead where watching a movie in my room before we where going to go to the game. I was lay on Jugheads chest why he had his arm wrapped around me.

"You thought anymore about what you want to do for your birthday Sunday or not?"

"I think I just want to spend the day with you maybe spend a little time in the morning with my parents."

"You don't have to do that. You don't have to spend the day with me if you want to spend the day with your family."

"Your my family to. Pulse this will probably be the only birthday I'll ever be able to spend with you."

"I'm sorry about that Betts...I really am. I wish things where different and we could stay together and I could stay close to you."

"Jug we could still stay together we can try long distance..." I said sitting up.

"Betts don't. I don't want us to fight again. I can't have our last memory's together be just us arguing about this because like I said. When I'm old and sat in that old trailer surrounded by empty beer bottles with my two estranged kids I'll think about this time and I don't want to remember us fighting."

"Juggie there has to be a better future for you then that." I said with tears in my eyes from thinking of him in that way.

"The only other dream I have is with you and sharing your dream...but that option went away when I didn't get into NYU."

"I love you Juggie so much. Can you promise me something?"

"Anything."

"If I spend a year at college. One hole year. 365 days without you and I have a chance at this college experience. Will you then at least try long distance."

"If you try college for a full year without me then yes I'll try long distance with you." He said kissing me softly.

A few minutes later we got into his Jeep and drove to school. We got out of the jeep and so did Jughead as we walked into the school. As we walked into school there was only a few people walking threw.

"Hey Juggie can we stop at my locker I need to get my science homework."

"Yeah of course we can." He said smiling and he reached for my hand and intertwined our fingers as we walked to my locker. I opened my locker why Jughead leaned his back on the locker next to mine. I got my homework sheet put it in my pocket and closed my locker again. Then I felt Jughead's hand on my arm and he pulled me in front of him why he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close to him.

"You ok?"

"Yeah why?"

"Your just a bit quiet wanted to make sure you where good."

"I'm fine." I said going on my tiptoes and kissing him softly. "We should get you to the locker room game starts soon."

"Yeah. Come on." He said as I pulled away and he held my hand I walked with him to the locker room door.

"Good luck Jug."

"Thanks. I'll see you after the game. I love you." He said smiling.

"I love you to." I said and Jughead leaned down and kissing me passionately. I pulled away and then Jughead walked into the locker room and I walked to the front stands where Kevin and Veronica where sat.

"Hey guys."

"Hey B come sit." Kevin said and I sat in between him and Veronica.

"You ok? You seem a little happier than usual? You and Jughead have a quickie." She said laughing.

"No we just talked."

"About?"

"I'm going to go to college for a year and have a chance at the 'college experience' after that we're going to try long distance." I said smiling.

"Well thank god my heart couldn't take a permit Bughead break up." Kevin said putting his hand over his heart dramatically making me and Veronica laugh. A few minutes later the game started.

The whistle blew for half time we where losing 24-26. All the players jogged to the opposite side lines and sat on the bench and started to get drinks and stuff. I looked and saw Jughead stood up and he downed a hole water bottle but he was still panting.

"I'll be back in a sec." I said I grabbed a new water bottle that was next to me and I climbed over the small metal fence and jogged over to Jughead.

"Juggie." I said and he turned around and smiled at me.

"Hey Betts. What's up?" He said still breathing heavily I smiled at him and handed him the bottle. "Thank you." He said smiling and he needed down and kissed me softly.

"Are you ok?"

"Just a little stressed there laying people off at work so I'm a little stressed with that then I'm getting pains in my leg." He said softly I went on to my tiptoes and kissed him. He brought his hand up to cup my cheek and kept kissing me slowly. The whistle blew breaking our moment then the coach started to get the team into a huddle.

"I'll see you after the game."

"Ok. Don't worry Juggie you'll be fine just relax." I said and he nodded and kissed my cheek softly before walking to the huddle and I walked back to the bleachers.

By the end of the game we won 32-28. As the game ended everyone started to leave. I walked threw the school to the parking lot and sat on the bonnet of Jughead's jeep. After minutes later Jughead came running out of the school with a brown envelope in his hand.

"BETTY!" He shouted as he ran towards me. As he reached me he put his hand on my cheek and he slammed his lips onto mine and kiss me passionately. I didn't hesitate to start kissing back and I wrapped my arms around his neck and pull him close to me.

After a few minutes he pulled away and rested his forehead on mine.

"What was that for." I said chuckling.

"I was just walking down the corridor and this coach stopped me. He was a college scout Betts. He saw the game and loved it he's offered me a full scholarship for two years to NYU so I can do my photography." He said smiling widely.

(NYU don't have a football team but they do in this book.)

"Juggie that's amazing!! I'm so proud of you." I said smiling back at him.

"You know what that means Betts." He said still smiling and I nodded.

"We don't have to break up." I said bringing my hands up to his face and running my thumb across his cheek.

"Not unless you want to." He said smiling.

"Of course I don't you big dork." I said as I leaned down and kissed him passionately.
