A Little Different ~ Bughead

Chapter 32

Betty POV

I was sat next to Jughead with Kevin sat on the other side of me why Archie and Veronica sat across from us as wee all sat out side eating out lunch on the benches. Yesterday after me and Jughead had our talk about what happens after high schooler stayed at the river for a while just talking like nothing was wrong then Jughead walked me home and I went to bed. Some times I think about what life is going to be like without Jughead and the possibility that I may not get to have my dream with him but that just gets me all worked up and makes me nearly cry so I try not to think about it. But right now...I'm thinking about it then I felt someone squeeze my hand bringing me out of my day dream/nightmare. I looked up and saw Jughead looking down at me with a soft smile.

"You ok?" He whispered why everyone else was talking about something.

"Yeah." I said smiling at him and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me to his side.

"So B What dose your dress look like?" Veronica said as I was pulled out of mine and Jugheads little bubble.

"Sorry V what where you saying?"

"Your dress for prom. What's it like? Remember you said you didn't want to go dress shopping with my and Kev because you said you and Polly where going to go?" Shit. That dress shopping thing was a lie I didn't want to go dress shopping with Veronica and Kevin because one I hate shopping and two I wanted to hang out with Jughead instead because the day they wanted to go was mine and Jugheads movie night but it was back when we were just friends.

"Uuhhh.....I didn't get one there in wasn't any I liked." I lied as I looked down.

"B! Why didn't you tell us we have to go shopping tonight then."

"No we don't. I'm not going so there's no need."

"What?" Kevin said shocked

"I'm not going. I don't want to."

"Betty I thought you wanted to go." Veronica said and I just shrugged.

That night I was sat on the end of my bed cross legged doodling in a scratch book why Jughead was laying on his back looking up at the ceiling.

"Why don't you want to go to prom?" Jughead suddenly blurred out.

"What?" I asked confused looking up from my book. Then he sat up so he was facing me.

"It's just...most people want to go to there prom and I know you did but now you don't. So why not?"

"Well I do want to go it's just...prom is the night of graduation and I don't know if we'll still be....you know."

"Together?"

"Yeah." I said quietly. Then Jughead leaned forward and placed his hand on my cheek.

"Betts I'm going to stay with you till you get in your car and leave for college. So I want to take you to prom...if you want obviously." He said smiling.

"Of course I'll go to prom with you."

"Great no I just need to get my dress. I'm thinking of getting a blue dress I think it will bring out my eyes." He said smiling.

"Your such a dork." I said pushing his shoulder and he fell backwards onto the bed and he pulled me down with him so I was straddling him.

"I might be a dork but you love me." He said putting his hands on my waist.

"I do. I love you so much." I said leaning down and kissing him softly then Jughead put his hand on my cheek and I kissed him deeper.

"When are your parents coming home?" He said breaking the kiss but keeping me close.

"Couple of hours there working late. Why?"

"Well I don't think you want you parents home for what where about to do." He said flipping us over so he was on top as he started to kiss down my neck.

The next day after school Me, Kevin and Veronica went dress shopping Kevin was there for input he wasn't getting a dress sadly.

We where in the mall at a dress shop looking for a dress when Veronica started to talk.

"B me and Kev still need the details."

"On what?"

"You and Jughead having sex."

"Yeah we need details."

"It's mind blowing that's all I'm saying for now." I said chuckling.

"How big are we talking?"

"Kev!" I said loudly why blushing.

"Come on please...I need to know because if we are in the same room in NYU I need to know whether I need to invest in any industrial ear plugs." She said chuckling.

I rolled my eyes and put the dress I was looking at back on he rack and showed them with my index fingers.

"Oh my god. Really?"

"What?" I said confused.

"Girl let's just say above average."

"Definitely above average. Bigger then Archie let's say that." Kevin said laughing.

"How do you know how....."

"Veronica told me."

"This is what best friends talk about. I definitely need to invest in industrial strength earplugs."

"You...uh...you don't have to."

"B if your saying it's mind blowing snow he's that big I'll need them."

"No you won't....Jughead didn't get into NYU." I said quietly but just loud enough so they can hear me.

"But he's going to visit you right?" Kevin said with a soft smile.

"No...once I leave for NYU that's it for me and Jughead...he wants me to have the quote 'full college experience' and he thinks if we're doing long distance I won't be able to do that. So once I leave me and Jughead are breaking up."

"What? B that's crazy! You can still do long distance and have a college experience what is Jughead on about!"

"He thinks he'll be holding me back. But he won't I know he won't but he doesn't see it the way I do and I can't do anything because it takes two to be in a relationship and I can't force him into staying with me. So....I just have to let it happen."

"I'm so sorry Betty." Kevin said giving me a hug.

"He's an idiot. I'm sorry." She said hugging me as-well.

"It's ok. We still have a couple weeks together so I'm just focusing on that." I said as I pulled away from them.

"Well let's find you a dress that will knock his socks of before Veronica knocks him out with her handbag." He said chuckling And putting his arm round my shoulders and giving me a squeeze as we looked at Veronica's slightly angry face.
