"Taymor don't do it." I pleaded "Please just stay here let the cops deal with it."

"Cops," he looked at me "ain't gonna do shit for you.They'll let him roam free."

I know Tay has something against cops they been against him his whole life, but this one time I just want him to leave it.

He put his desert eagle in the duffel bag.

"I do this shit every day when I'm trapping what's the difference?" He asked zipping up the duffel bag

"I have a bad feeling about this time."

He kissed me on my forehead and got in his car.

"Tay."

"Don't worry get some sleep." He gave me a small smile

"Just make sure to come back,promise?" I asked holding out my pinky

"Promise."He locked his pinky with mine "Now go get some sleep."

"Ok." I walked back in the house and watched him drive off

My parents weren't home they were working until tomorrow morning meaning I had the house to myself.I decided to take Tay's word and go to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing at midnight.The caller Id read a unknown number.

"Hello?"

"India it's me Tay."

"Tay where are you?"

"I'm at Marvin's house come pick me up."

"Okay I'm on my way."

I got out of bed and put on some shoes and ran out the front door to my car.I can already tell something went wrong.

I started speeding down the street to get to Marvin's house.I heard the police sirens and I pulled over.

"License and registration." The officer asked

I gave him my stuff and he flashed his flashlight in my face.

"What is a 18 year old doing out this late?" He questioned

"I'm going home." I lied

"I'm going to have to write you a ticket."

"Why?" I questioned him

I have no time for this bullshit.

"You went over the speed limit."

I wanted to say something, but I didn't.He started writing on a paper and handed it to me.

"Slow down."

"I will." I said rolling up my window as he walked away to his car

I kept driving until I was parked in front of Marvin's house.I got out and knocked on the door.It opened and I was yanked in.

"Tay what the hell!"I hugged him

"Shhhh." He said rubbing my back

"Look I'm on the run."

"On the run,why?" I looked at him

"Some things went down don't worry about it." He explained "I have to get away."

"Tay what if they find you?" I started to worry

"Don't say that they won't I got my friends in another state.Just take me home I'll start packing."

"Alright."

I was sitting on the bench behind the defendants table next to my aunt and parents.Taymor was walking down the aisle to his table with his lawyer.

"Tay!" I got out of my seat and hugged him it's been weeks

"Karmella sit down." My dad demanded trying not to raise his voice

"Ed she misses her cousin."

"She's hugging a criminal." My dad spat and my mom and aunt looked at him

Taymor's jaw was clenched.

"You should sit."Tay said offering me a weak smile

He looks skinny and tired.

"Taymor McIntyre you are looking to face 5 to 15 years.For the possession of a gun, disorderly conduct...the list continues."

I sat there fingers crossed praying to God he wouldn't have to go and leave me.Tay is all I have.

"We the jury find the defendant Taymor Travon McIntyre, guilty of the crime of attempted murder and the allegation you were armed with a firearm."
