I frowned. "I see, so five men enter Miss Rains home and try to rob her. And the red hair girl stopped them. And she's a demon."

"Yes, sir that is what the people are saying and the intruders," the guard said.

"And the people are angry," Berith said. "See I told you Drakor. Now you have to kick her out."

"But," Berith dismiss the guard.

"What will you do?" Berith asked.

I stood. "I will ask Kanna to leave."

"No," Berith said. "I know you are going to break. Let me do it. Now stay here."

I nodded and sat down. If I do go, I will only end up protecting Kanna.

"You are going to allow this?" Kor growled. "You cannot chase her away. She could be pregnant. And whoever is after her could hurt her."

"I'm sorry," I said. "But it has to be like this. I have to do what's best for our people. And they don't want her here."

"If you do this," Kor growled. "You and I will have a bad relationship."

I groaned. I don't want Kor to be mad at me. But the people are essential. I must make sure they feel safe. And Kanna is a threat to them.

I sat there for what seems like hours until a guard showed up. "Sir."

"Yes?" I looked at him. It was the same guard from earlier.

"You didn't last me finish earlier," he said. "The people afraid of Kanna. They are grateful that she saved Miss Rain. And Miss Rain doesn't fear her. She did at first. But she knows Kanna is different. Um, sir, you need to stop your brother from humiliating her. Or the people won't be so, happy."

I stood and rushed out. Damn it; I should've had known this would happen.

I hope Kanna is alright.

I was going straight to Kannas home, but I didn't need to. Berith had Kanna in town.

In the middle of town. The people were around. I rushed over and saw Kanna on the ground with nothing but a blanket around her.

"You let her go!" Miss Rain yelled. "She saved my life. She is a good demon. She's not bad. Let her go! You are disrespecting her!"

The people began to throw things at Berith. Berith hid behind the guards. I walked over. "Drakor do something. I didn't know they liked her this much."

"I guess there was a misunderstanding," I said. "And a lack of communication. But the people do like Kanna." I walked over and knelt down in front of her. "Kanna I am sorry for this you can go home now."

She stood and stepped back. I saw her eyes were red and dimmed as if she wasn't well. She walked away stumbling. I frowned.

"Drakor," Miss Rain walked over. "She isn't well; she got hurt during the attack."

"Miss Kanna!" Someone yelled. I made my way through the crowd and found the tavern owner holding Kanna. "Help! Shes injured!"

I rushed over and picked her up. "I will take her." I spread my wings and flew off.

I carried her to my home. I landed on my balcony and went into the room. I tucked my wings in and laid her down.

Taking the blanket off, I saw the wound. I quickly called the maids and the doctor that stayed in the castle.

I waited outside the room. "Hey." Berith walked over. "Don't glare at me like that. How was I suppose to know they liked her."

"What you did is wrong," I said. "Dragging Kanna out of her home in nothing but a blanket. And publicly exposing her like she was nothing. Kanna maybe a demon, but she is still a woman. You can't be doing that. I'm afraid even asks how many times you did that."

"None," he said. "Kanna is the first. You know I hate demons."

"She isn't responsible for our parent's death," I said. "We can't blame every demon we see."

Berith leaned against the wall.

The door open. "Kanna is okay," Lady said. "Honestly, she did an excellent job at sewing her wound. It's like Kanna had done that before. Now she needs lots of rest. She is weak. Also, make sure she doesn't get up her wound may reopen."

I nod. "Thanks, Lady." I went in and saw Kanna sleeping. Her lips were pale. Not their reddish color. I sat next to her and touched her forehead. She's a bug warmer.

"Oh, and she developed a fever," Lady said. "Keep an eye on that. If it doesn't go dome call for me." I nod.

I stroke her hair and notice it was short. Did she cut it? Why would she do that?

I sighed. "Get better," I kiss Kanna's head.

I sat on the chair and watched her sleep. She would move around but never work up. I was starting to get worried. But Lady said it was normal.

"Drakor," Berith walked in. "Come on; you have some things to do. You can't stay here all day."

"I know,"I stood. "Alright, I'll go." Before I left, I asked a maid to stay with Kanna.

I went downstairs to my throne and sat there. And all day you had to give the five men a punishment. But I don't know what. I can't think at the moment. All I can think of is Kanna.

After I decided to have the five men should remain locked up for their crimes I went back upstairs. And I found the main on the floor and Kanna was gone. I knelt down and patted her cheek. "Wake up."

"Hmm," the maid flutter her eyes open. "What happened?"

"It's what I asked,"I said. "Where's Kanna?"

She sat up. "She woke up, and ask me for some water. I turn around and nothing. I felt a pain in the back of my head."

"Go see Lady," I said. "Get that injury checked." I helped her up.

Kanna she must've had run away.

I walked out. That girl is going to get it.

"Berith, I'm going out," I said and walked out. I got on my horse and rode off.

I need to find her; she isn't well. She's still sick.

Why would Kanna leave? Was she afraid, she must be. I am a horrible king.

I allow Berith to humiliate her in front of the people. And now she's wandering around. Naked!

I better hurry up before some perv tries to take advantage of her.

I rode to her home. And I found the door open. I got off the horse and tied the reins to the small fence. I went in and found Kanna face down on the floor.

"Kanna," I knelt down and held her. "Hey."

"Ah," she opened her eyes. They were still red.

"I got you," I picked her up and laid her on her bed. "I'll take care of you."

I held her hands. I will protect her from now on.
