Son of Alice: Apocalypse

Chapter 6: Church

Ashford continues searching for more survivors. Then, he finds some at a church. He turns on the camera and he spots Jill, Rebecca, Peyton, Richard, Brad and the newswoman. They all approach the church gate. Jill and Brad support Peyton as he limps. 

Jill: Inside. Let's get under cover. 

They all go inside the church. Peyton opens the door and they all walk in. They're in a big chapel. They all look around as Richard closes the door. Thunder crashes outside.

Man: You have to get out. 

They all turn around and see a man pointing his gun at them. 

Man: This is my place. I'm hiding here. 

Newswoman: I think it's big enough for all of us. 

Man: (Points his gun at her) Don't tell me what--

Peyton: Okay, just cool it. Put the gun down. (Frowns at him) Put the gun down.

The man looks at them and slowly puts his gun down. Peyton then looks at the Newswoman. 

Peyton: And, you, take it easy. 

They all sit down on the chairs while Jill and Richard smoke. The newswoman introduce herself as Terri. She takes out her camera and records everyone. 

Terri: So does the Raccoon City Police Department have any comment on what those things are?

Brad: (Scoffs) They're all zombies. What do you think they are?

Peyton: What's that you got there? 

Terri: My Emmy. That's if any of us make it out of here. 

Just then, they all hear something from somewhere inside the church. They all look at an entrance to the hallways. They hear someone yelling. Jill and Rebecca look at the others. Peyton nods at them and they nod back. They walk to the entrance. Richard goes with them. They walk through the hallway with their guns ready. They walk slowly and they turn a corner. Then they enter a room. It's a priest's room. They see a lot of chairs and a desk. They see an old woman sitting on a chair by a fireplace. 

Jill: Are you all right?

They slowly approach her. 

Richard: Ma'am? Ma'am, you okay?

She doesn't say a word as they approach her. She just looks at the fireplace. 

Man: What are you doing?

They all jump as Jill point her gun to her left. It's an old priest. He goes to the old woman and blocks her. 

Jill: What's wrong? 

Priest: It's my sister. She's not well. 

Jill: Maybe we can help.

Priest: No.

Rebecca: Let me try. I'm a medic. Maybe I can help her.

Priest: Please. No.

Jill: (Pushes him) Out of my way. 

She walks in front of her to look at her. To her shock, she's a zombie. Her arms are tied down to the arms of the chair. She growls at Jill as he tries to break free of the wires.  

Priest: Just get out. 

She backs away slowly and she bumps into something on the floor. She looks down and sees a dead body. She looks by the fireplace and sees an arm and a foot. Blood is all over the floor. She looks at the priest as Richard and Rebecca see the body too.
