Chapter 16

Jungkook's POV

"I plan to get to know you." Yoongi's voice repeated over and over in my head with the statement that he said to Rox. Each time it repeated just fueled the unfamiliar anger that was coursing through me. I tried to stop my mind from repeating the words but couldn't help it. I walked quickly to Jin's room and into his bathroom, not caring that I hadn't asked. I stared at my face in the mirror and looking back at me was a barely concealed jealousy burning through my eyes. Why was I jealous over my friend? Maybe because she is my first friend here and I don't want to lose her to Yoongi? That must be it, them both being vampires could very easily push me out unless I happened to be a vampire too. I didn't want to lose her friendship, even with making new friends, I didn't want to lose her. A hard resolve snapped in my eyes as I decided I would not allow that to happen. Tae's head then peeked into the bathroom and looked at me blankly.

"You okay bruh?" I laughed lightly at Tae's way with words and turned to face him.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just needed some air, pretty warm in there." I mentally winced at my excuse, knowing it sounded like complete bullshit. Tae just arched a disbelieving eyebrow and nodded.

"Uh, we should get back in there ha," I moved awkwardly towards the doorway to the hall while Tae just kept eyeing me. I paused in front of the giant food painting the hid the way to the dining room and kitchen, wondering how to open it. Tae pointed nonchalantly at the tiny hidden button in the ornate frame. Ignoring the childish excitement that rose in me at the promise of getting to open a secret passageway, I pushed the button and after the painting opened, walked back into the dining room with Tae following behind me. As I re-entered the dining room, I noticed everyone staring at Rox who was fidgeting in nervousness. I laid my hand on her shoulder, making her jump, only to relax when seeing it was me. Yoongi looked at my hand on her shoulder and quickly flicked his gaze away in what looked like irritation. I smiled mentally to myself at the fact that I had ruffled his feathers.

"What's going on Rox? Why is everyone staring at you?" While I asked Rox what was going on, Tae had returned to his seat where both him and Kai sat rigid as they had been all throughout dinner. I rolled my eyes lightly and Jimin peeked above Kai and Tae's heads to speak.

"I asked her what kind of hybrid she is, then she got all weird." Tae reached around Kai and lightly punched Jimin in the arm at his comment. Jimin grabbed his arm in exaggerated pain and Kai stiffened even more at the brush of Tae's arm if that was even possible. Rox continued to look nervous at the question directed at her and now that I knew about vampires, I knew why. Wanting to help ease her uncomfortable feelings I offered up a suggestion.

"Why don't you guys tell her yours first, maybe she'll be a little less shy about it then." They all exchanged looks around the table, eventually landing on Jin who apparently was tonight's spokesperson. I slid into my seat beside Rox, scooting a little closer to her though she seemed not to notice. Yoongi noticed though and after about a minute of consideration, he scooted closer as well, again not being noticed by Rox. I felt a wave of irritation but pushed it down as Jin had begun speaking.

"Well it looks as if everyone is fine with that, I'll tell you what all of us boys are. I am Nephilim for anyone who didn't know, Namjoon here is an Elf hybrid, Luca is an Incubus hybrid, Hoseok is a Werewolf, Yoongi is a Vampire hybrid, Taehyung is a Demon hybrid, and lastly Jimin is a Faery hybrid." Rox looked around her in awe, her gaze lastly landing on Yoongi with happiness in her eyes. My gut twisted at that look as Yoongi smiled tentatively at her. Rox then spoke with a new found confidence in her tone.

"I'm a Vampire hybrid too, Rowan is a Siren hybrid, Loki is a Succubus hybrid and Kai is a Kitsune hybrid. Oh crap." Rox covered her mouth when she realized that she had just told everybody what her friends were without their permission. She looked at each of them apologetically. Rowan merely rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, Loki waved her fingers at everyone around the table lightly and Kai was busy staring very hard at her food. Rox let her gaze trail back over to Yoongi and I swear I could already feel her slipping away as she gazed at him happily.

I brushed my fingers on her thigh gently, causing her leg to shoot up into the table in the process. I heard a loud thud under the table and saw Rox's eyes widen in surprise and then saw her wince in pain. She must have knocked her knee on the table in shock. Everyone stopped eating and looked at Rox in concern.

"Are you okay Rox?" Hoseok adopted her nickname quickly and Rox smiled at him in response.

"I'm fine, just kind of a klutz haha," Rox looked at me, eyes wide in question at my actions and I looked away sheepishly, not able to give a reason being that I didn't know why I did it myself.

After that everyone finished eating, with idle chatter happening amongst everyone. Yoongi kept glancing over at Rox who was putting a tremendous amount of concentration into eating her food. She did not look at either one of us the rest of dinner though me and Yoongi had no qualms with looking at her anyway. After dinner Jin announced that my room should be finished by now, not seeming to shock anyone but me. At the apparent look of shock that must have shown on my face, Jin chuckled and merely said, "it's kinda like Hogwarts here, some of us can work magic." Jimin excitedly came up to me at this point, grabbed my hands and dragged me to the room at the end of the big hallway, right beside Tae's. We stood outside the door as everyone else trailed languidly behind. The door wasn't decorated as everyone else's was, merely a dark brown wooden door. Jimin spoke up next to me, wrapping one arm over my shoulder and the other draped at his side, with his head resting on my other shoulder.

"They don't decorate it until you emerge." Jin walked up next to me at patted my head. I was coming to realize this was quite the touchy feely group when he stated teasingly, "I hope you like silver."

Finally Jungkook gets a bedroom lol
