Today my dear you're finally headed home
This wasn't how it was supposed to be
Right here by our side for many years to come
Forever more alone are your dad and me
You and your brother now joined in Heaven
Together forever you'll stand
Side by side you will watch over all of us
Through triumph and heartache, infinite like a band
We are all connected endlessly to you
Your brothers, sisters, family and friends too
Time will go on, the pain will never heal
While we hope and pray we keep the memories of you
We are still left standing asking God why
Forever we wonder what we should do
Lost should left wandering here and now
It'll never be the same without you
We can't handle anymore of this suffering and loss
So much devastation, enough is enough
God doesn't give more than you can handle
I beg to differ, we are not that tough
My promise to you as we lay you to rest
This isn't the end at all
You're now forever with your brother
With angels flying over, oh so tall
Please don't be afraid of that shadow you see
Just take Scotties hand, he'll only guide you right
Forever and always, now your guardian angel
Patiently he's waited to take you into the light
This is not our last goodbye my love
We will meet again someday
Until then we wait, not so patiently
Memories reminding, you're not that far away
Today was the last stop my dear
Now you're finally on your way
It's okay to go, I promise we'll survive
When all seems too hard, we'll hold each other and pray
