Something To Consider...1.21.15
Another son gone, unfortunately killed by police
While the world is busy criticizing, we’re just begging for peace
The media says he struggled, papers say he fought
Don’t know how this’ll turn out, hope if won’t be for naught
No one really knows what happened that night
Yet they’re all so opinionated, all have to be right
Cannot stand the heartache, cannot stand the pain
How many more have to die, don’t want them to be in vain
No time to be sad, no time to grieve
The negativity’s too much, really need a reprieve
There are so many questions, it all feels so wrong
People feeling isolated, just wanting to belong
Can’t stand the judging, can’t stand the hate
All these uneducated opinions have me feeling so irate
Can you imagine for a moment, for a minute or two
This hadn’t happened to us, but instead did to you
Your child, your friend, maybe it was your mother
Your father, your sister, maybe even your brother
If we could close our eyes, envision all people united
Maybe just maybe, all the wrongs could be righted
I wish the world was blind, not seeing black, white, or brown
Maybe it’d be that much harder to tear everyone down
We beg of you now, please take a minute to see
Not everything, everywhere, is as it appears to be
Something to remember, we all bleed blood red
Need to figure this out now, before more generations are dead
