I am Savannah Solo

Friday October 20th

Mine and Hope's alarm went off at 6:15. We got up and got dressed.

Hope: Is there any food in this house?
Me: there's cereal I think
Hope: that's not food
Me: I found oatmeal, want it?
Hope: sure

Hope made her oatmeal while I made a bowl of cereal. We ate and then Brad's parents picked us up. We went to the funeral home and went in. The service lasted about an hour and then we headed to the cemetery. Kiley, Justin, Hunter, Claire, Matt, Brad, and I laid a rose on her casket and then they lowered it. Everyone started leaving until it was me, Brad, and Matt.

Matt: I can't let her go
Brad: she's gone, but you were here. That's what matters
Matt: I loved her
Me: she loved you Matt, she loved you so much

Matt started crying and Brad hugged him. The three of us walked away together and then Matt split off to his truck. Brad, Duke and I got in the car and went to Brad house.

Sarah: alright, I'll call you down when lunch is ready
Hope: thank you

Hope followed Brad and I upstairs. We changed and then went to the game room to watch Netflix. I fell asleep within the hour.

Hope: you need to make sure she doesn't bottle this
Brad: I know
Hope: this one is different though, she's not running
Brad: I didn't give her the chance too

Sarah called for lunch and Brad woke me. We went down and ate.

Mike: well I want to leave in 30 minutes so make sure you have everything together.

We put our plates in the sink and then went to get our stuff. We loaded the car and then mike drove us to the airport. We checked our bags in and then went through security. Hope walked us to our gate.

Hope: good luck tomorrow
Brad: thank you
Hope: and good luck on Sunday
Me: thank you mama
Hope: bye you two and you better call SB
Brad: bye Hope
Me: bye and I will

We boarded our flight and landed in Chapel Hill at 5. Justin and Kiley picked us up and we stopped to eat dinner at Blue Dog. Justin dropped Duke and I off at my apartment. I unpacked my bag and then I facetimed Kelley.

Kelley: Baby Horse, how are you?
Me: I'm alright, it's been a long day though
Kelley: I bet, how was Matt?
Me: a mess, he was so broken
Kelley: awe
Me: yeah, how is your family?
Kelley: they are good, I always love coming home
Me: that's good
Kelley: well I have to go, it was good to talk to you
Me: alright bye Squirrel
Kelley: bye Baby Horse

I hung up with Kelley and then got ready for bed. I laid down with Duke and fell asleep.
