" You girls almost ready to go?" I yelled from the bottom of the stairs as Lana ran down the stairs followed by Haily who was slowly trailing. "Where's Baily?" Haily asked putting her shoes on. "I'm right here." She said coming out from the kitchen and towards the door with the cooler we had packed last night. "I'm gonna go put this in the back of the car." Baily said putting her sandals on and heading out the front door. "Is all your stuff we're taking to the cottage in the car?" I asked the girls before going around the house to make sure all the appliances and lights were turned off. "Yes." They said in unison. "We're gonna go wait in the car now." Lana said as they made their way out.

After making my rounds to check everything, I locked the front door and went out to the jeep getting in the front seat. "Where's Hunter?" I asked noticing that he wasn't in the car. "Oh he went out to grab a few things before we left." Baily said buckling up her seat belt. " We asked him what he was going to get but he wouldn't tell us." Haily added. "He said it was a surprise!" said Lana. I put the car keys in the ignition and plugged my phone in so it could charge. Just as I did that, the truck pulled into the driveway and Hunter got out with a Tim Horton's bag and a tray with drinks on it. He opened the driver's side door and placed the stuff down on the dashboard. "Surprise!" He said getting in the jeep. "Thanks H!" The girls said from the back as we handed them their drinks and a box of timbits for the ride. "You're welcome, just don't make a mess back there or we're gonna have to drop you off on the side of the highway." He replied.

We left the driveway and made our way to the cottage for the week. As we were cruising down the road, I got a text from Hunter's parents thanking us for taking his sister's to the cottage for the week. "Can we listen to something that's not the radio cause I'm tired of the ads." Haily said rolling her eyes. I switched the radio to the aux and scrolled through my music library until I stopped on In My Feelings by Drake. We all started jamming out and singing along, music cranked up, wind blowing through our hair, sun shining and not a care in the world as we cruised down the highway towards the cotty. "We're gonna stop and get some gas anyone need to take a bathroom break while we're here?" Hunter asked looking through the rear view mirror. "Can I get out and stretch my legs?" Lana asked as they got out of the car to pump gas into the jeep.

"We're here!" I said as the girls all looked through the window to see we had arrived. "Wow this is your family's cottage?" Haily asked as we got out of the jeep and opened the back. "Yep it sure is!" I replied walking up the steps to unlock the door. "It's so nice!" Baily said as I opened the door stepping in and placing the keys down on the little table near the door. "Maddie where do you want me to put this?" Hunter said walking through the door with the cooler. "Just place it in the kitchen for now and I'll put the stuff away in a couple minutes once we've brought everything in." I replied as he placed it down and we went back out to get the rest of the stuff and helped the girls bring in their bags.

Once everything was brought in and put away, I showed the girls to the rooms they'd be sleeping in for the week and gave them a tour of the cottage before getting ready to go sit on the dock. The girls placed their towels down on the Muskoka chairs then ran off the dock and jumped into the water. "Ah home sweet home!" I said as I lay back in the Muskoka chair and put my sunglasses on. "It's so quiet out here." Hunter said sitting down in the chair across from me. "It is isn't it. Did you text your parents to tell them we got here safely?" I asked as I texted mine letting them know we had arrived and were relaxing by the lake. "Yeah I did you?" he replied looking over at me. "Yep just did." I placed my phone down and got up to go sit on the edge of the dock to stick my toes in the water.
