Moving Day

The next morning, I woke up at 6:30 and took Easton out on a jog with me then, I came home and ate some breakfast, after that I went up to my room and got changed into a black tee and my cut off overalls. Once I was done getting changed, I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and put my hair up in a messy bun. "Morning buddy." Alex said as he walked down the hallway stopping in the doorway of the bathroom where I was finishing my messy bun. "Morning Al" I replied as I shut the light off and followed him downstairs.

When we reached the kitchen, Sam was sitting at the table eating his breakfast. "Morning Sammy boy!" Alex and I said at the same time. "Oh morning guys!" He replied taking a spoonful of cereal and putting it in his mouth. I went over to the fridge and grabbed some strawberries, a banana and some kiwi then, I took out a knife and cutting board and started chopping the fruit up. After that, I got the blender out and mixed my smoothie ingredients together, I grabbed a glass from the cupboard above the dishwasher and poured it in. "Do you guys want some?" I asked the boys as Sam went over to the sink to put wash his bowl and Alex went to the glass cupboard and grabbed a cup. "Count me in!" Alex said excitedly. Once I poured the rest of the smoothie into the cup, I cleaned up and put everything back where I found it then, I sat at the island and checked my messages to see I had one from Hunter saying that he was awake and ready to start packing up the jeep and my brothers' trucks. I texted him back saying that I'll meet him out front in a minute then, I looked at the boys and told them to get ready and start bringing some of my boxes down to the door.

Just as I was walking up the stairs to my room, my mom was coming down. "Morning mom!" I said as we crossed paths on the stairs. "Morning sweetheart, did you eat already?" she asked as I nodded in reply. "Okay, I'm going to get breakfast ready for dad and I then , we'll help you pack up the vehicles." She added. Once I made it up the stairs and into my room, I handed Sam a box that said Photo Albums on it along with another box that had my school memory book in it along with a few other things. Then, I picked up a box that had Maddie's Sports Stuff written on it and handed it to Alex. Once they I gave them a few boxes, I grabbed some bins and boxes that had the majority of my clothes in them and made my way to my jeep to put them in the back seat. "Maddieeee!" I heard as I looked out to the street to see Lana running up to me. I gave her a hug "Lana!" I replied with the same enthusiasm as her. "How's my favourite 14 year old?" I asked as she sat down on the step. "Good but I'm upset." She said brining her knees to her chest. "Oh honey, why are you upset?" I asked sitting beside her on the step. "Well because, now that you're moving, I won't get to see you every day and I can't run across the street to your house anymore to come say hi." She explained as a tear slipped down her cheek. I placed my arm on her back and started rubbing small circles until I brought her in for a hug. "Oh Lana, you'll be fine! Sure I'll miss seeing you every day but it's not like I'm moving out of the town! Your brother and I are just moving a few minutes away from here and you can come visit us anytime you want okay?" I said to her as she looked up to me as she wiped the tears from her eyes and nodded in agreement then she asked "You pinky promise?" I stuck out my pinky finger as did she and I made that promise with her. "Promise"

"Okay Mads, everything is pretty much all packed and ready to go except for the furniture." Sam said as he tossed me the keys to my jeep. I caught them and then went inside to grab my wallet and phone. When I came back outside, Hunter came and stood by Lana "Alright, I'll meet you at the house along and we can start unpacking the boxes." He said as he was about to leave but Lana stopped him to tell him that she wanted to come with me to the house. Hunter looked up at me and gave me a look of approval. "Be good Lana or you won't be able to come to our new house." He said walking down the driveway as Lana rolled her eyes and gave me a big smile adding "You won't let him do that would you?" I laughed and replied "Don't worry Lan, we made a promise and it's not going to be broken." I walked over to the driver's side and hopped in starting the car as Sam hopped in the front seat and Lana got in the passenger's seat behind Sam's. I pulled out of the driveway followed by Alex's car and hunter who drove behind him, as we were driving to my new place, Sam plugged his phone into the aux outlet and shuffled his playlist. First song that came on was one of my favourites from Thomas Rhett. "OMG I love this song!!!" I said as Lana Laughed and Sam rolled his eyes. "Here we go!" Sam said as we started singing out the song lyrics.
