Pizza Troubles

The next day, we did some more touring and took a lunch break at a nice little pizzeria along the river. "Dudes! We should ask the owner if we could learn how to make pizza... You know, the Italian way." Carter said as we all stopped in front of the place and took a second to take his idea into consideration. "Alright how about it guys?" Brent said as he opened the door for us to entre, once we entered the store, it smelt really good, like fresh pizza straight out of the oven. "Hi, how may I help you young ones?" An older lady behind the counter asked as she wiped down the counter with an old rag. "Hi, we were just wondering if you could teach us how to make pizza, the Italian way." Carter said as the lady put the rag into a bucket of water and wiped her hands on her apron. "Ah, tourists I see, hold on a moment I'll go get my husband, he'll teach you kids how to make delicious Italian pizza!" She said walking towards what I assumed to be the kitchen. When she came back, there was an older man behind her with a towel on his shoulder and flour on his black chef pants. "Hi, I'm Victor, I heard you kids wanted to learn how to make pizza Italian style!" He said, he motioned us to follow him to the kitchen where he handed us each an apron and showed us where we could wash our hands. After we washed our hands, we all gathered around the large table where they rolled the dough out to make the pizza crust.

After we made our Italian pizza, we let it cook for a good 30 minutes in the oven then, once it was done, we took it out and let it cool for a few seconds before each taking a piece, we asked the lady to take a picture of all of us and Victor with our pizza in the center. Max and Jack held the pan as A few of us had a piece in our hand and others giving thumbs up with weird faces. She snapped the picture and handed me my camera and phone back. "Thank you very much for letting us experience this, it was a lot of fun!" Sophie said taking a bite of her slice. Once we were done in the pizza parlour, we split up and went separate ways, I went with Max, Carter, Alex, Hunter, Mina and Justin while the rest of the group went back to the hotel to hangout.

"I'm so full I can't even eat anymore!" Carter said as we walked down the street towards a festival there was being held in the town. "I could probably roll down the street because I'm so full!" Hunter said as a few chuckles could be heard in the surroundings. I looked over to Mina who gave me a big smile as I returned the gesture with a half-smile. Mina then let go of Justin's hand and quickened her pace to catch up to me. "Hey...Is everything okay?" She asked stopping me in my tracks, I broke eye contact with her then looked down to the ground then, replied "I...I...I'm fine." She gestured for me to look up at her and I did as told then, she asked "Maddie, what's wrong? Is something bothering you?" That's when I kept looking around feeling the presence of an unwanted visitor that's when my gaze stopped on him... At that moment, I froze right on the spot, the sound around me faded away and then I collapsed.

"Maddie...Maddie.....Maddie, baby please wake up!" I heard a broken voice say as my eyes struggled to open and I felt a hand squeeze mine firmly and a thumb rub across the top of my hand. "Maddie, please wake up... I still need my best friend and little sister... I can't lose you." I heard my brother say as someone else ran their fingers through my hair. After a few minutes of struggling to open my eyes, they finally opened slowly and as I woke up, I soon saw everyone surrounding me in a place unknown. "Where...Where am I?" I asked as they all moved closer to me with a joyful look on their faces. As I looked up at hunter and Alex, they both had puffy red eyes like they haven't slept for a few days and have been crying for a long time. "You're in the hospital. You collapsed at the festival two days ago and have been in the hospital since." Mina said giving me a soft smile as I tried to sit up a bit to see everyone around me. Hunter wrapped me in his strong arms and ran his thumb across the top of my head, I could see he was still had tears spilling from his cheeks. "I thought I lost you baby." He whispered hugging me tighter. "I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere, I promise." I whispered in the crook of his neck as a couple tears rolled down my cheeks. As we released from the hug, he looked down at me and took his thumbs to wipe away my tears then, kissed my forehead before getting up. "I'll be back okay, I'm going to go get something to eat." He said as he left the room to meet with the others who were now waiting in the waiting room.
