Happy At Home

The next day, I woke up to light beaming through the sliding door. I sat up in bed to notice Hunter wasn't there, I got out of bed and walked over to the sliding door to see him leaning on the railing looking out onto the ocean. I decided to open the door and go up behind him wrapping my arms around his waist and placing my head on his shoulder. "Morning sleepy head, thought you weren't getting up this morning." He said as a smirk spread across his face. I took a second to yawn then replied " Hey I'm surprised you're up before me. I came up before you did so what's got you up so early?" He laughed, turned to look at me and pulled me into a hug as I looked up at him. "Mads it's 11:30, it's not that early babe."

After spending a few more minutes out on the balcony, I went inside and got dressed before packing up my suitcase as we prepared to leave and catch our flight home. "Hunt you have everything packed to go?" I asked zipping up my bag and placing it by the door. "Yeah I've had everything packed before you even got out of bed this morning." He laughed as he watched me go through all the drawers and cupboards to make sure we didn't forget anything. "Babe let's go, we're gonna miss our flight if we don't get to the airport soon." He said picking up the suitcases as I grabbed the room keys. "Alright alright I'm coming!" I said as we made our way out the door.

After checking out of the hotel and heading to the airport, we lined up to get on the plane then found our seats. After about 30 minutes, the plane headed over to the runway and took off towards Pearson airport in Toronto. I looked out the window as the plane kept going up and once the ocean view was gone, I put my headphones on and pressed play as Tequila by Dan and Shay started playing. I then closed my eyes and soon drifted off to sleep for the flight home.

"Maddie, wake up, we're going to be landing in about 15 minutes." Hunter said shaking my arm lightly so I'd wake up. "Have a nice nap?" He asked as I wiped my tired eyes and stopped my music placing my headphones and phone in my bag. "Yeah until you woke me." I replied giving him a pouty face. "Hey tell you what, once we get in the car you can nap all the way home and I won't even wake you up. I'll take the bags into the house and if you're still sleeping I'll carry you in. Okay?" He said brushing hair back from my face with his hand. "Alright." I replied leaning my head against the seat. "Oh and Hunter one more thing." He looked at me as I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. "What is it Mads?" I smiled at him and replied "Just wanted to tell you that I love you and you're the best thing that has ever happened to me." He smiled then kissed my hand before replying.

"I love you too beautiful." After that, the plane started to go down preparing to land on the runway. We then got off the plane, grabbed our luggage and made our way to the jeep that was parked in the parking garage. Once we got to the vehicle, I opened the trunk and we placed our bags down. We then got into the jeep and put our seatbelts on heading home. "Alright let's get home!" I said excited to be sleeping in my own bed tonight. As we got onto the highway, I leaned my head on the window and watched as cars and transports passed us by until my eyes grew heavy and all I saw was darkness.

When I woke up, I looked around to see I was in my room at home, in my own bed. I turned over to see Hunter lying next to me sound asleep so I laid back down and cuddle up beside him pulling the covers over me. He then opened his eyes and wrapped an arm around me bringing me closer to him. "You alright Mads?" He whispered in his sleepy voice. "Yeah I'm fine, just a little cold." I replied as he pulled the covers up and I wrapped my arms around him. "Better?" He asked "Better" I whispered in reply adding a thank you for bringing me up to bed.

I woke up the next morning and went downstairs to the kitchen. I turned my phone on and the tv before getting stuff out to make breakfast for Hunter and I. I grabbed the fruit from the fridge and placed it on the counter then, I grabbed a cutting board from the cupboard and a knife from the drawer then I started cutting up some fruits for breakfast. Once that was done, I took the bacon and eggs out of the fridge and cracked a couple eggs placing them in the frying pan. Once that was starting to fry, I placed the bacon in another frying pan and cooked both at the same time. "Is that bacon I smell?" I turn around and see Hunter standing in the doorway leaning against the frame with his messy bedhead and flannel pajama bottoms. "Well good morning to you too!" I replied rolling my eyes jokingly and smiling. He came over and placed a soft kiss on my lips then stole a piece of bacon off of one of the plates sitting on the counter. "Hey! Breakfast isn't ready yet that's one less piece of bacon for you Mr.!" I said jokingly as he grinned and sat down at the island watching me prepare the plates. "I'll make the toast if you want any." He said getting up getting the toaster and bread out. "No you sit down, I'm cooking breakfast today!" I replied as he put his hands up in surrender and sat down.

After breakfast, we cleaned up and grabbed some movies from the basement theater and came back up to the living room. I grabbed a blanket as Hunter turned the tv on and put in the first movie. "Hope you like Spider-Man cause that's our first movie." He said as he came back over to the couch where I was laying spreading the blanket over my body. "Hey Spider-Man is my favourite hero and you should know that!" I said as we got cozy and enjoyed watching the movie. As the previews played, I received a text from Hunter's mom asking us if we were up for going over for dinner tonight. So I asked Hunter then replied that we would be there around 6. "Isn't it great to finally be home?" Hunter asked. "It is! And I'm happy to be home cause I've really missed it."

We continued watching movies the entire afternoon before we left to enjoy supper with Hunter's family where we had quite a few laughs and fun games.
