Chapter 43: Naval Battle

"Now let's started! The Naval Battle! Let's see who's going to win this time."

With colossal sphere water appeared in the middle of the colostrum, the representative mages in the water began to attack. In the corner of the audience seat, a woman with a usual cape over her shoulder and the hood over her head, smiling in delight. The unusual figure caught sight of many other audiences surrounding her, with her scandalous outfit, a knitted off-shoulder cropped sweater loosely covering the one-piece black bathing suit and long brown socks that reached to her tighs and boots, that amplified her curves and fair skin. The exposure of skin and the mysteries cape that covered half of her faces caused the emission of the sexy beauty vibe, which the audience couldn't help to stare at the woman to get a better look on her face, despite that no matter the closure between the woman and the observers, they could never see the front of the woman. The woman cast a spell that causes the people couldn't see her expression other than her lips.

I know I'm beautiful, but that doesn't mean that you could stare at me for this long!

"Is there something on my face, Mr?"

With her cold voice filled with displeasure, she turned her head to her side, where a man was staring at her ever since the beginning of the match. The man nervously apologized and turned his gaze back to the stage, yet since take a few glimpses of the woman without her notice. The woman immediately huffed in annoyance as she is continuing staring at the on-going competition. Within a few minutes of the Naval battle, most of the representatives were kicked out of the water sphere, leaving only two representative guilds members in the sphere. Sabertooth's representative Minerva and Fairy Tail's representative, Lucy, the two members that secretly known each other due to the incident of Jamie's seals.

The woman, Jamie gripped her hand tightly, nervous as she knew that under the public's eye, Minerva will act differently from they first met. She remember the yesterday's events and agreements in the secret meeting.

"Lucy, you have to forget the appearance and image that I hold today."

"What?"

As the moon was hanging high up in the sky, Lucy was about to leave when Minerva stopped her with her warning. Calmly Jamie who sat in bed silently listened to her right-hand woman's words. Revealing a pair of serious eyes, Minerva with her hands crossed immediately explained the reason.

"Tomorrow the match is Naval Battle and Mervin is going to send me to the match. Just a warning if you will end up facing me tomorrow, I couldn't be kind and let you guys win or else the suspicion that Mervin held on me will grow. I need to act as merciless and a figure of the bully for the sake of plan that Jamie was preparing for. I will apologize in advance that if you guys are my opponent for the Naval match, you might only come out barely alive."

With a weary smile, Minerva was guilty about harming people as it reminds her of the past that she wishes to forget. The past where her father pushed both Mervin and Minerva to kill a certain former loyal member. Thankfully Jamie, a fellow traveler during her scavenge search for her past members, recused her from falling into the darkness and regained her positive attitude by giving her something that she always wanted from her father, Acceptance and unlimited trust. She was finally free from her father's bearings and revolted against her father, kicking out of his guild. Tainting her hand with blood is something that she never wished to do again, yet for the sake of gaining trust from Mervin and safely processing the project that Jamie had planned, she had to act ruthlessly, defeating her opponent by crushing their weaknesses.

Witnessing the weary expression on Minerva's face, Lucy immediately realized the meaning behind those words. With another nodded, she revealed a bright smile and stepped into the portal.

"Don't worry. Not a word will be leaked out of my mouth. But after all of this is over, you will promise to hang out with me, ok?"

Surprised at Lucy's response as she thought she will push her away, Minerva chuckled with a sweet smile.

With the loud cheering of the audience, Jamie's thoughts were interrupted and spurred her head to the stage. The eastern-looking woman with a malicious closed-eye smile with a hand waving to the audience and another hand grabbing the neck of a certain blond celestial mage, whose completely bruised and exhausted.

"Yea. I will promise when all of these are over-"

Fairy Tail members were outrage as they stared at the woman with anger within their eyes. With a delight expression, Minerva stared at the figure in her hands as her eyes revealed the sadness within her dark pupils, yet within a split of a second, all those emotions were erased. She then dropped the figure to the floor and turned away from the acquaintance.

"I promised that we will hang out by that time comes."

Surrounded by the deafening cheers, Jamie sat at the sideways, watching the rest of the scene with guilt puncturing her heart. She couldn't do anything but only sighed as she continued to watched the remaining matches with a heavy heart.

In the competition between Sabertooth and Fairy Tail, the wrath of the members in Fairy Tail was already apparent within their expressions, yet the attitude that Sting and Rouge took was filled with arrogance, disregarding the fact that they completely let down their guards, they triggered the opponents by discriminating against the abilities of the opponent's representative. Jamie was beyond furious, she took umbrage at Sting's attitude. Yet hiding her exasperation, she hiddle a smile on her lips, emitting a killing intent, which made the people surrounding her feeling a sense of coldness creeping into their clothes. If someone realized the source of this killing intent, they would think that Jamie is sadistic.

Minerva, whose sitting near the audience seat, sweat-dropped while trying hard to keep her arrogant appearance. Sitting crossed legged and arm-crossed, she couldn't help but noticed the killing intent from a certain hood figure. She knew that the woman is Jamie due to the resemblance of killing intent that Jamie release during the fight with the Rankin clan. She knew that Sting's attitude had crossed the baseline of Jamie's moral and only secretly praying for Sting and Rouge's safely when she comes back to the guild.

She's not sadistic, she's the demon itself.

Meanwhile, Sting and Rouge in the stage felt a sudden chill and immediately looked around themselves. Noticing nothing special, they spurred their head and continued the competition.
